Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

Didnt Brady quinn go 29 for 45 for 286 yards and no int's? And wasnt your pass defense only ranked 43rd overall in the country? Thats far from killing. By the way Phillip Rivers have 315 yards and 4 td's against a much better 2003 buckeye defense than they will have this year?

...and Hodges of Texas Tech threw for 369 yards and 2 TDs against you last year, so by your logic your pass defense is terrible. Dude, your pathetic act is getting old.

And in the end they had 17 points to show for it.

Exactly. And in the two games you cited (Rivers for NC State in '03 and Quinn for ND in last year's Fiesta Bowl), we won too. So you just contradicted yourself (ND scored a whopping 20 points against us). Now that your lack of intelligence has become even more apparent, will you please give such irrelevant arguments a rest?

Show me where i posted that either team had near as much talent as you did or should of came within 3 td's?

Your original post that cited the performance of Rivers and Quinn was a criticism of our defenses of the past few years. You said absolutely nothing in the original post regarding your present argument that we should've blown out those teams. Let me sum it up for you:

Your original conclusion: Our defense will not be as good as we're saying b/c it hasn't shut down marquee QBs in years past.

Intermediate point made in response to your post: Your defense gave up huge stats to a QB as well last year, so your "argument" applies equally to UT.

Your new conclusion: We should've blown out those teams in the aforementioned games.

As you see, you've changed your conclusion in light of the fact that someone pointed out a conclusion that you don't agree with if your "logic" is followed.

Next, please.

The bottom line is Heacock is gonna load up the box and force the UT freshman to try to beat us. I don't think he'll do it. If he does somehow, with the many blitz packages and Tampa 2, my hats off to him.

Time to watch Deadwood. Swengin #$%@sucker!

that's a great question... OSU has been the best team against the run in the last 4 years. If Mike D'Andrea were healthy, I'd have more confidence in the run D that early... the LB position is a little bit behind in camp (lots of shuffling). They will be good against the run, but they have to be great to stop texas' running game.

So OSU was #1 against the run in 2005, 2004, 2003, and 2002??? Hard to believe you guys were #1 against the run in 2004 when you went 8-4.

According to these Texas fans, games are played on paper. We should've never beaten scUM in '04 and Marshall never should've even come close to beating us that same year. :roll2: I'm starting to wonder if xray started up a couple new accounts on BP.

I was referring to the duration of 02-04. feel free to prove otherwise with stats.

What does 02-04 mean? 2004, 2003, 2002...well that still includes the year I was asking about.

Originally you said OSU was the best against the run the past four years...to me the last four years is 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002. Are you refering to another four year stretch?
