Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

We run more of a spread offense, although we will probably see less of that this year, whereas Texas runs (ran?) a QB option-read type of offense. I've heard we are adding some option read into our offense this year, but it won't be our staple like it was for Texas last year.

Both C. McCoy and J. Snead come from H.S. programs that use the QB option-read offense, and 99.9% of the time from the shotgun.

Tangently, If Hawkins can succeed at the bigger school, if Nebraska can continue its reinvention under Callahan, if Stoops can find a way to succeed w/ Bomar, if Mizzou gets a new coach, if Iowa State continues to be solid, if KState brings back the juco express, if Gundy can keep bringing in key recruits, if Baylor continues to steal recruits from Aggy, then we can start talking about being one of the top conferences again. But admittedly, that's a truckload of ifs.

I'll sure as hell be glad when this game is over, so I don't have to wade through fucking 5 pages per hour worth of posts. HL alone has 2,100 posts, virtually all in the two UT game threads. Unfucking real.

I just enjoy your company....if you could find me a horn board with football knowledge I will gladly go there, till then, looks like I am hangin at the planet

Im breathing again :oh: :io: Hey! what happened to all that speed?

I expect us to play more like we did the year that Chris Simms was a sophmore. Balanced pro-style offense. Lots of one back. We will have more shot gun this year than that and I pray that we don't go back to the 3 yard hitches and outs, though I am sure that we will have a very controlled passing attack

- If Shipley is finally healthy enough to go, do you longhorns see him as the #3 WR behind Sweed/Pitman? Or could he move higher? ...by the OSU game?

- UT fans, do you expect to return to the 04 offense of run, run, run w/ QBs/Charles/SYoung? Or is the wr position deep enough to sustain the passing game?
