Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

Yeah I am talking about the Yoeman, I just think it is a stupid nickname.
  1. An attendant, servant, or lesser official in a royal or noble household.
I know Texas had a balanced offense, but it still doesn't change the fact that it was gimmicky in my opinion. And I still don't see how that offense is going to run smoothly with a freshman who doesn't have anywhere near the running ability of a Vince Young.

I guess it could be dumb but thats not worth the arguemnt. I was just comparing to other mascots like the New Braunsfels - Unicorns or the Winters - Blizzards

Texas' offense is taken from the Broncos and the Colts. The option of the QB keeping the ball was an addtion that was there to take advantage of our qb's unique skill set. It won't be used as much this year.

Well when your entire offense consists almost solely of your QB putting the ball in the back's midsection, then deciding to hand it off, keep it, or throw it, I'd say that is up there on the gimmick meter. It's in no way to take a shot at Texas. It is merely just an observation on my part, just like people saying TT has a gimmick offense. Obviously both those gimmicky offenses (with the right personnel) work.
I'd tend to agree with this.

Texas' offesne until last year was more of a pro-style offense. What Texas ran last year resembles nothing close to anything I have ever seen in the pro ranks.

A&M is still able to recruit top caliber athletes in spite of College Station. And I would much rather spend time in Lubbock than CS. CS is a hell hole among hell holes.

College Station, while an armpit of a town, is 1hr from Houston, 2 hours from Austin, 1.5 hrs from waco and very close to the recruiting hotbed of East Texas. Lubbock is 5+hrs from anything worth a shit.

I'm not trying to say that rural college towns can't recruite, just that rural college towns in New Mexico(i.e. texas panhandle) have a very tough go at it

The Colts entire offense is built upon the ability to run the ball and playaction. Texas' offense last year is comparable to the Colts in this way and this way only.

actually the colts base formation(be it ace or shotgun) with peyton(dancing around doing his little shimmy) and edge in the backfield, Harrison, Wayne and stokley with Clark at te

was our base offense three wide outs, a running back, and a pass catching TE
