Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

Ok...that's cool.

I might just have a difference in my mind between a player bobbling a pass and actually dropping it, whereas you might see it differently. I guess it's just purely semantics and the way you interpret it. Call me a bandwagon fan, but what do you exactly prove out of it? I mean, what do you seriously gain by trying to insult me? I thought everyone on this board was an adultlike enough to not resort to insults. I feel I have provided more than my fair share of facts on this board in order to attempt to prove my argument.
the difference is the play you're jerking off over had nothing to do with griffen, but everything to do with hamby not catching it. who knows if he even would have caught it if he was the only one in the endzone? obviously he was having trouble with it. you make it seem like griffen was the sole reason that play didn't result in 7.

I don't take great pride in OSU recovering the fumble that Selvin practically handed to the defense... and that play did not involve a major breakdown that should have cost the defense dearly. If a UT fan tried to discount that big play by our defense, I would not argue very much.

In re Hamby not reeling it in

That and the fact that I wasn't able to find a clip of the whole play.:)

All copies of the full clip were set to self-destruct after 5 seconds by ROCK3TMAN.

That moment is over and gone anyway, water over the dam. I'm looking ahead, not behind. Buckeyes win by a one score margin in Austin.

without hamby dropping it, the "pass break up" doesn't happen. it's that simple.
If Hamby's hands werent made of stone we wouldnt be arguing about it right now.

And doesnt this game UT & tOSU game in September look very similar to last years game? Texas had the great VY and OSU has the very similar Troy Smith. Ohio St had a great defense last year, and now UT has a great defense.

I think the score could be very similar to last years score of 25-23...im thinkin 28-25 maybe?

Enough Hamby talk. It's past. Let's get on to something important....

I've been hearing for two years about Texas BBQ Beef Brisket.... who's feedin' us all, and when/where do we need to be to collect?

High Lonesome, I'm looking in YOUR direction....? :)

I could live with 28-25. Heck, I'd take 7-6 as long as we get the "W".

A lot of Texas fans are expecting a fairly conservative Longhorn offense. If we can get a little pressure on those frosh QB's and our D is adequate against the run, it could be a much wider margin.

At least Hamby ran good routes and got open several times in that game, and Im pretty sure he made some big plays during the year. Who's your TE now???? David thomas saved Texas a-- many times last season. UT is loaded at the TE position again. Jermichal finley is,,,,, oh well, you will understand better about midway through the second qtr.

Marcel Frost and Rory Nicol.

And if your quarterback has to dump it off to the tight ends all game then I will be very happy, because that means we're shutting down the run and putting pressure on your young QB's. So go ahead, give your QB's a nice safety outlet with your all universe tight ends instead of looking down field so they don't get crushed by our pass rush or throw a pick, the last time a tight end hurt us in any significant way his name was Kellen Winslow.

With only two WR , actually only one because Ginn will be shut down again, you better make TE a little higher priority.

I'm pretty sure that Tressel and Co. are reading this thread, and I have no doubt they agree with your assessment. I have little doubt they're spending the whole summer making wholesale changes to our offense owing to the fact that Texas will "shut down" Tedward, and no one else on OSU's WR crew can catch a cold.

Ever hear of Anthony Gonzalez? You will.
