Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

I don't even know why we are going to play the game. Ginn is going to be shut down, we only have 1 WR, and Texas has better TE, WR, OLine, DLine, Trainers, Waterboys, and Hot Dog Vendors...........don't believe it, "we'll see it about midway through the second quarter" :roll2:

Gonzalez is a very good WR, but not with Tarell Brown drapped all over him. Just like like year, in December tOSU willl be saying, boy, if we could only play Texas now.

I can't tell if you're simply being confident or if you're actually attempting to make a point here.

In any event, suppose I said, "In December, Texas will be saying 'man, I wish we could play OSU now!'" would you take that as some kind of authority or omen? Doubtful.

It's "Terrell" by the way.

I guess you're right... I mean, I didn't realize it was as simple as you saying not only will Ginn be shut down, but Gonzalez will have Brown in his jock all day. I figure the staff (and I hope they're reading this) should make every effort to back out of this game post haste. :shake:

His name is Michael Griffen, or didn't your watch the rose bowl last year. Are you saying Ginn wasn't shut down last year? Texas will have more speed on defense than tOSU will have on offense.

Oh, OK... I get it now.. We don't need to play this year because we already know how it turns out because the teams played last year. Got it. Thanks for clearing that up for us. After all, it's not like one year a player can get shut down, but then the next he goes off. This much is self evident by the number of times Eddie fumbled near the goal line in games against Illinois. He never recovered from that... at least not against Illinois. :shake:

Between Griffen, Brown and Ross Texas will have the best secondary that yall face next year much like last year. Also, many of the coaches have commented that Griffen will be/is better than Huff was. I don't know if I believe it but I do believe that he is damn good.

With only two WR , actually only one because Ginn will be shut down again, you better make TE a little higher priority.

Wow, I hear everything is bigger in Texas ... you certainly prove the case for morons. Besides, we watched the Rose Bowl as well. Why should we even throw the ball when your vaunted defense gives up 6+ yards per carry to the runningbacks? How many do you return on D? Oooooo .... scary!

Heck, I'm not even that worried about our receivers. Looks like your D gave up receiving averages of 8.0, 8.0, 9.5, 9.6, 12.1, 15.8, and 20.3 in the RB. Seven guys caught balls? Good Lord, I guess we'll need to suit up several trainers so we have enough bodies to throw to.

If this thread last through August, may God be with us all.

Hummm, at this rate you won't make it to August. This isn't a "smack" board. We certainly welcome football knowledge and we like to treat visiting fans as our guests ... but we also expect them to act like guests. It's a two-way street and you're close to crossing the center line.

See, now that's something we can work with... No sweeping conclusions about how OSU's top 2 Wideouts have little prayer of seeing daylight all game long.

Taking notes, UTMNC?

Who is the new guy "Michael Griffen", he must be taking over for Free Safety 27 Michael Griffin. Wow, to take a spot from a veteran, he must be pretty damn good, but as stated. We will find out for sure about the middle of the sencond quarter...

Just stating facts. Ted Ginn was a Heisman candidate last year, until after the Texas game. All I am saying is IMO, he is a candidate this year until after the Texas game. Troy Smith's tenure as a Heisman favorite may be short lived as well, IMO. In not one single post have I said ANYTHING disrespectful or derogatory about tOSU, in fact, I stated in my original post that IMO, I think tOSU might win this game in a LOW scoring contest that is sure to be a WAR. I have only stated IMO how each teams match up position by position. The ONLY COMMENT that comes close to crossing a line was directed at MililaniBuckeye who IMO deserved a response that corresponded to the remark made to myself and inVINCEable.

Greatest Post of the Week!

Alright, so lets just say that UT secondary shuts down the Pass. That leaves us with 1 option on offense. Run the ball. Now, if you see my quote in my sig made by the Mr. Hayes, you might find the exact style of play that we could be playing if that "uber secondary" of UT shuts down the OSU passing game. Hell, we have so many different runners and depth at RB, along with the fact that Teddy Ginn can run reverses all night long, idk if we will ever need to pass the ball.
