The conference was FSU and then everybody else and Maryland got pounded by FSU, the only legitimate good team in the league at the time. You've never faced a great team. In relation to OSU, Maryland does suck. The fact that they lost to a mac team proves that they're just a wannabe program. You don't see the real big boys lose to crappy mac teams. Where did I say they were? Somebody said Maryland sucked that year, they were wrong. My post had nothing to do with Ohio State.

It's not embarissing, it's just hard for people to afford season tickets, tickets to the Ohio State game with hotels, food gas, etc., then tickets to the Iowa game with gas, food, hotel etc. We already sold out our tickets to the Iowa game, and we brought 7,000 fans to the Michigan game last year and about 20,000 fans to the Northwestern game. Oh yeah our fans are abunch of losers.

Maryland wasn't that good in 2003. They played in a Miami and VT-less ACC. They played one top 5 caliber team, like you'll be facing on Sept.2, and they got pounded. I understand that's probably a good year most places, but that doesn't impress anybody over here.

The only reason why Marshall was even in that game was our offense stunk up the joint in the second half and even gave them a TD in the first half (MU returned a fumble for a TD). This year's offense is light years ahead of the early-2004 offense. NIU won't get reply on our offense imploding to give them a chance.

You haven't. Is this supposed to impress us, honestly? You're just going to offend more people by now comparing us to Illinois. Did Illinois finish in the top 5 that year? Because OSU has three times in the last four. What years was it that Illinois won those BCS games and national championship again?

Sorry fella, but the '01 Illiniois team is not the same caliber of the team you'll be facing on 9/2. Was Illinois in '01 preseason #1? Was it a team that was coming off its third BCS game victory in four years? Didn't think so.

G-Force, you love your team and we respect that. Please stop the act, we understand you don't want us to underestimate NIU.

How has NIU's fall camp been going? Are there any standouts on your defense or any changes to the 2-deep on either side of the ball?

Good point - West Virginia just forfeited their season, rather than take a shot at the BCS this year. :wink2:

As focused and as smart as Jim Tressel is...there is NO WAY that our players, especially our offense, can completely ignore the fact that they are going to Austin the very next week iin a #1 vs. #2 showdown. There is a ton of hype surrounding our offense...so much hype that I think it is impossible for them to play any better than they are hyped up to play. It will be great if they just play near as good as they are supposed to. I don't see that happening in the first game agains NIU. I think our offense will likely do some great things, but will also do some stupid things to slow itself down. ON THE OTHER HAND...fall practice has made me a believer out of ou defense this year...these guys are going to come to play, and they are all fighting for starting jobs. They are going to use the NIU game to try to win a start in the Texas game, and they aren't going to let up. Whether it be 1st or 2nd string...and they are all good because we are quite deep with young talented players that Tressel has recruited over the past couple years. That being said, I think this game is a lot lower scoring than people anticipate. We may score 40...but I wouldn't be surprised if we score something more like 28-35 points. But I will be surprised if NIU puts up 10 points. I'm thinking more like 7 or 3.

NIU has a solid O-line and a solid rushing attack. And with the way our defense is looking, I bet they struggle to get more than 75 rushing yards. Sorry G-Force, but this game really has nothing to do with NIU. It's Ohio State vs. themselves. I think there will be one offensive player that will really shine in 3 weeks and carry the Buckeyes to victory...Antonio Pittman.

By the way...if you ever have a chance to go to Jamestown, New York...don't.
