Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

that cracked me up as well. NIU needs to realize that there will be 100,000+ at the game and probably an additional 200,000+ going to the bars to watch the game. There will be no taking over of anything.
They also need to understand that this isn't the 75 year old wine and cheese crowd they saw in Ann Arbor, either.

This is opening weekend, a 3:30 kickoff, and Labor Day Weekend.

We beat Pitt I believe it was 70-14 one year in the 1990's...does that team reflect waht the Pitt BCS team was? You're really starting to reach now.

After demolishing Rice 70 - 7 to open the 1996 season (The game Wiley scored 3 TDs the first three times he touched the ball as a collegian) Ohio State went on to beat up Pitt 72 - 0. Fr WR David Boston, as you may recall, returned a punt for a TD while having only 9 guys on the field... one of which was him.

I did not read any of the NIU board, but if they think they can 'take over a bar' that's some funny stuff. Lets face it, most of those guys are used to a "full house" being something on the order of 35,000 people. Add 70,000 people to that number... it's something that can't be appreciated until seen. And, like has been said.. that's just the people INSIDE the shoe.

A blanket apology...

Dear fans of NIU, UC, PSU, BGSU, Indiana and Illinois:

As you are aware, your teams, in some sport or another, are scheduled to play a game in Columbus at some point this fall. As I'm sure you heard and read about the atrocities that befell Texas fans last year, you may be in for a shock on game day. Although I must admit, I witnessed nothing from couch at home watching Julia Child, as I was unaware that there was even a game that day.

I would like to apologize in advance for any taunting, foul language, or excessively loud "OH-IO" cheers you may be forced to endure. Our fans and students are absolute hooligans you have no undersatnding of the value of human life outside of their own and their 105,500 closest friends. And don't get me started on their lack of concern for anyone's long term hearing, as you can hear those confounded "Let's Go Bucks" chants a mile away from the stadium. Lord only knows what they are doing to their inner ears.

Please enjoy your stay in Columbus and travel safely.

Michigan fans, you can go fuck yourselves.

Sincerely,

Karen A HoleBrook
President, THE Ohio State University.

I recomend Lane Ave. It shouldn't be too hard to take over, just like Ann Arbor!

And P.S. what the hell kinda pre game atmosphere does Ann Arbor have anyways. :shake:
