I've read the books- considering they've diverged substantially from the Riverrun plot between the books and the show- namely Jaime not being there- and they haven't been to Riverrun in the show in a long ass time -since before the Red Wedding?- I assume it's up in the air what's actually going on there in the show.

Also, the Blackfish is currently at large in the books and Riverrun is under Lannister control, so I don't really follow what you're saying in the first place.

The season scenes shown before the season started show jamie in the riverlands, so he's going to end up there eventually. one can assume it will likely play out similar to the books since jamie lannister will be there. the blackfish was at riverun in the books and escaped before the lannisters and frey's took it. so, the show is going to align pretty close to the books with this it would appear.

Okay, thank you for explaining.

It would make sense for the writers to reunite Jaime and Brienne there.

I just hope Lancel drops a bomb on Jaime after the confrontation between the Tyrells and the sparrows so Jaime can hate Cersei like in the books- potentially even killing her as foreshadowed by the valenqar thing and Cersei mistakenly thinking the "little brother" the prophecy refers to is Tyrion (I assume Cersei came out first so technically Jaime is younger than her).

Sky Germany has spoiled the episode titles for the end of S6. Predictably, Ep 9 will be another grand battle. 9 & 10 directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who did ep 8, Hardhome, last season.

https://www.reddit.com/r/gameofthrones/comments/4lfv9i/s6_titles_for_episode_810_revealed/

608: Niemand (No One)
609: Die Schlacht der Bastarde (Battle of Bastards)
610: Die Winde des Winters (The Winds of Winter)
You won't believe what episode 9 is called!

I think the fact that it is more a TV show only and less like the books is obvious. I'm actually watching the most recent episode now.

At least Gilly got hot. :)

That dragon scene (it just ended for me) was out of nowhere. Why was the dragon suddenly there? It is so much less story telling now and more jump cuts TV style.

The dragon return was awful. The speech was worse and cliché.

The episode has some really underrated moments though. Mace Tyrell's attempt to be Mel Gibson in Braveheart had a perfect comedic touch. The High Sparrow is totally outplaying the best players in the Game of Thrones. Arya realizing that she joined a group of paid mercenaries rather than a group of do-good assassins sets up well for her return to Westeros.

Also, the Coldhands reveal (while obvious) was still pretty cool.
