G/F Evan "The Villain" Turner (2010 Naismith Winner)

Titus has the interwebs buzzing today...

via twitter
Impressed w/ OSU recruits in McD's game last night. With The Villain coming back, they should be preseason #1. I really might redshirt now. ... Let me clarify. The Villain hasn't officially decided, but he's hinted to me by saying things like "We're gonna be loaded next year". ... He's also hinted by saying "I'm going to stay for my senior year" and "I'm not going to NBA this year". Sorry I drew conclusions from this

response from draft express
@clubtrillion is having fun with Ohio State fans on April Fools Day. Evan Turner is not coming back, he already started meeting with agents

Turner might not have said those exact words when he was interviewed during the McDonald's All-Star game last night but it led me to believe that it is not out of the realm of possibility of Turner coming back. This plus some other posts by cbf40 in this thread.

But if he would hurt himself for life, he would get more in an insurance settlement than most will make their whole life. 5 million...

So it is lots of millions vs 5 million.

A lawyer obviously has to be involved but most of those insurance contracts don't pay out as easily as people think they do. Its not as simple as any injury that drops his draft status equaling a 5 million payout.

Its similar to disability, you have to prove that the injury completely and totally prohibits him from making a living playing basketball. If he can rehab an injury and be a FA sign or something like that they probably won't pay.

At least that's how it used to be.

I'm getting sick of seeing Buckeye fans saying Oh Thanks Evan for everything... He's not gone yet. It isn't selfish of us to hope he comes back, the NBA will always be there, and I'm sure he would love to play basketball for the University he loves, and with teammates he's played with for the past few years.
