Future Football Schedules (Updated 8/31/2024)

rocketman - you can knock the Vols on many counts these days - but being ready to go out of region to play has never been an issue for UT.

Every SEC rule (what rules - it's the SEC!) has an exception.

Tennessee's recent major non-conference opponents:

1996 - UCLA
1997 - TexTech, at UCLA
1998 - at Syracuse (who won the Big East and whose only home loss was to Tenn)
1999 - Ntre Ame
2000 - ---
2001 - at Ntre Ame
2002 - Miami, FL (and nobody beat that team during 2002 - I think they had a loss very early in 2003, though)
2003 - at Miami, FL
2004 - Ntre Ame
2005 - at Ntre Ame
2006 - Cal
2007 - at Cal

Now, having given them credit for making a reasonable effort at non-conference scheduling and actually playing games outside the Southeast,

Go Bucks!! Stomp their cheating asses!!

Time for Mili to update his site. I love that we keep scheduling these marquee matchups. What are the chances that Fat Phil will still be there in ten years? What about Coach Tressel?

Regarding Fulmer, I would say very slim, but that just doesn't sound right.

By most estimates, I think people here have settled on another 10 or so years with Tressel at the helm. I believe he's stated publicly a few times that he didn't want to coach past 65. 2018-2019 might be the last few years we'll get with Coach Tressel before he retires.
