Future Football Schedules (Updated 8/31/2024)

More Buckeyes?

Ohio University and Ohio State University are discussing the possibility of playing each other in the 2010 and 2011 seasons, Media Relations Director Jason Corriher said Saturday.

The two schools are set to meet next season ? Sept. 6 at Ohio State ? for the first time since 1999 when the Buckeyes defeated the Bobcats in Columbus 40-16.

The two sides still have some details to work out before the contract can be finalized. Corriher said that he wasn?t sure when to expect a decision.

Shame on football powerhouses for gimmies against I-AA

By Kyle Nagel

Earlier this week, the college football arm of Rivals.com put together a story discussing scheduling trends in Division I-A for next season. It revealed what you might expect, that the bigger schools often have relatively easy nonconference schedules.
The site then went a step further, calling out some schools with its 12 "most embarrassing" games of the upcoming season. That is, the games I-A schools scheduled against clearly unqualified Division I-AA opponents.

Under the lights at home

Friday, April 18, 2008

On Oct. 25, Ohio State will host just the eighth night game in the history of Ohio Stadium - and the first since a 2005 loss to Texas - when Penn State visits for an 8 p.m. kickoff.
But night games are nothing new to Buckeyes fans, with the Big Ten television contract requiring more night games and OSU remaining the conference's top draw.
It's just that the Buckeyes usually play at night on the road, which they'll do twice: Oct. 4 at Wisconsin at 8 p.m.; and Sept. 13 at Southern Cal, also expected to be played in prime time

Maybe our other rivalry game (PSU) will become a night game from here on out. The last two games at Happy Valley have been two of the most intense games that I've seen in the past three years. This could add to an already intense, hard-fought rivalry.

Thats what I was thinking. I'm already looking forward to to that PSU game. And oh ya, who is that we're closing the season out with? :wink2:

Ohio State, Navy to resume football series in '09

Wednesday, April 23, 2008 9:23 AM

Ohio State and the U.S. Naval Academy today announced a two-game series in football that will begin in 2009.
The Buckeyes will host the Midshipmen in the 2009 opener on Sept. 5 in Ohio Stadium. The return game will be August 30, 2014, at a site in the Annapolis, Md., region.
?What a thrill it will be for the Ohio State community to host the proud tradition of the United State Naval Academy,? Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said. ?It will be a special memory for our coaches and players to compete against the nation?s finest.?
Ohio State and Navy have met three times in football. OSU won 27-0 at Navy in 1930 and 20-0 in Columbus in 1931. The teams most recently met in 1981, a 31-28 Ohio State victory in the Liberty Bowl.

I'm guessing that the game will probably be played at Ravens' Stadium. Will be nice to see the Bucks close to home
