Game Thread For the Natty vs ND, “One More, Then Forever”, Jan. 20th, 34-23 Buckeyes!

The Rose Bowl was the most enjoyable of the four games to me.

The setting, 34-0 just an all time game to me.
The Rose Bowl was as dominant as I've ever seen the Buckeyes, and I'm including 59-0 against Wisky in the 2014 B1G championship game and the 56-0 first half start against Iowa in 1995.

Some people and pundits tried to say that the Ducks came out flat. It's a lie. The Ducks came out and got flattened. The Buckeyes scored in less than a minute, then got a TFL on Oregon's first offensive snap, and the rest was history. The Silver Bullets forced four 3-and-outs in the Ducks' first six possessions.

Decent but not awesome turnout for the Natty Celebration. But still so special.

I’m 59 years old and to me the most exciting championship ever for me was the 2002 win. Probably because it had been 34 years and we had had the rug pulled out from under so many times that I thought we may never win one in my lifetime. I attended that celebration in mid january 2023. That was spine tingling and surreal.

That Oregon half was the moment when I went “Oh fuck, this team really decided they’re just gonna be the unstoppable force they should be.”

Coaches and players, to a man, were locked in and ready to whoop ass. That was a #1 team, on the West Coast and the Bucks just empowered their will. So fun.
One thing I liked about that game was that Will put the OU QB in his place, after being wrongly left out of the top 10 in Heisman voting, which we all know he took personally.

I remember getting pumped watching highlights of Byars and Carter scoring TDs. Then I thought we could never top the highlights from the mid to late ‘90s with George, Galloway, Glenn, Boston, and Katzenmoyer. But it keeps getting better.

We are blessed to have been experiencing this golden age of Ohio State Football from 2002 thru the present……and beyond

Remember the first half against Iowa in 1995?

That is the only other one I can think of where OSU was essentially perfect for a half against a decent opponent (not an OOCake)

There were a lot of big plays during the playoff run. Two of the biggest were against Texas and of course, Sawyer’s “Doting the Eyes of Texas” scoop and score was the clincher. However we can’t forget about Trey’s “catch and release” screen pass to the house just before the end of the half. Two magical and electric moments…..
