Game Thread For the Natty vs ND, “One More, Then Forever”, Jan. 20th, 34-23 Buckeyes!

Take the NC out of the equation, which win was most satisfying to you?I kindofbexpected the blitzkreig of Oregon, beating Tennessee was fun, but they weren’t Georgia or Bama. That brings me down to Texas and ND. Difficult choice, but beating ND save us from a tidal wave of media hoopla about the trophy being back where it belongs and would greatly help them in Midwest recruiting wars. So, yeah, I liked the win over ND the most.
Tennessee actually was my favorite of all 4. I didn’t know what to expect from the team to be honest. Go back and look but shortly after we lost to TCUN I said this team was going to win it all if they didn’t lose to Tennessee. Either our OL was going to be too bad to repair or we’d find something and go on a run.

Oregon was just surprising, Texas game was frankly stressful and annoying having to play them in Texas, and I knew we’d beat ND. However Tennessee was the team I thought we’d see this year. Fast, high scoring, diverse, playing depth, rushing the passer, running the ball, and more importantly violence. That was the hardest I’d ever seen the defense hit in my life. Hasn’t been a game in my life that consistently had that many big hits play in and play out. This continued through Oregon for the most past too but sort of petered out after that.

Watching all 4 playoff games again. Just realized - Fielding didn't miss any kicks (extra points and FGs) and put all his kickoffis into the end zone. (or not returned) Good redemption for the guy.

Edit: looks like he missed a 56 yard fg at the end of the first half vs Tenn

Edit2: Tenn returned the opening kick in the 2nd half to the 26.

He still had a good post season and was a reason OSU won.

Not sure if anyone else likes them, but I was looking forward to the BTN 60 min version of the championship game but I can't see that it has been broadcast. All the other playoff B10 games were released in that format.
I watched it on Tuesday, I believe. They chopped out a few minutes in the first half, but it was their normal 60-minute version otherwise.

The combined kicking-the-door down and beating some ass way we started the Tennessee and Oregon games takes the cake for me.

We started the Tennessee game with a 191 to -6 yards advantage. Then followed that up against Oregon by outgaining them 170 to 10 to start the game.

Coming out of the gates a combined 361 yards to 4 against two playoff teams is some outright ass kicking the likes of which we may never see again.

I texted some buddies of mine several times about just how thrilled I was that we were just kicking the ball through the EZ and not trying to get cute in the corner anymore.
The Oregon beat down was my favorite.
It sure was a nice way to spend a New Years Day.
