2023 FL RB Mark Fletcher II (Ohio St. decommit, Miami Signee)

Pair of current 2023 commits receive All-American jerseys

Always a theme for Ohio State’s commits, All-American contests each year are loaded with future Buckeyes. Some of the highest honors a prep player can receive, Ohio State has been well represented over the years at the various All-America activities, and this year is of course no different.

Whether it be the Under Armour edition or the All-American Bowl, 2023 Ohio State commits are taking part in their jersey ceremonies, and yesterday two more guys joined the ranks as the latest Ohio State players to crowed All-Americans.

The Buckeyes also saw current 2023 running back commit Mark Fletcher receive his All-America Bowl jersey on Wednesday. Much like the aforementioned Thurman, Fletcher is the lone commit at his position for Ohio State’s 2023 haul, and a major piece to the overall success of the offense. A running back is a priority in every recruiting cycle, and though Ohio State’s plans were originally to take two backs this year, getting Fletcher in the fold and keeping him has been pivotal for Tony Alford.

The No. 258 player nationally, Fletcher is the 15th best back in the country according to the 247Sports Composite. Under-rated for sure, Ohio State knows what they have in Fletcher, and as he’s shown during his senior campaign with his running style, the Buckeyes are thrilled to have him headed to Columbus.

Visiting UF this weekend...

Not sure that OSU starts at least looking at other RBs. Don't want to get burned, and there is a talented RB from Miyan Williams HS that deserves a serious look

More from Birm (via 11W forums)

He is visiting Florida, yes. Buckeyes will have to make some interesting decisions about what to do from here. At some point, their loyalty to him has to expire when folks in his circle are continually pushing for something else ... they risk getting burned bigtime by standing pat.

I want to stress that I fully, 100% think Mark Fletcher is doing everything he can to stay true to his commitment and wants to come to Ohio State, period.

Obviously things change fast, but as of yesterday (or whenever he recorded it) Birm said there was no concern about any members of the '23 class flipping.
Yes, and like @brodybuck21 quoted above, Fletcher wants to stay committed, but has people in his ear. Keeping Fletcher will be a battle, and I’m not saying they’re looking elsewhere. I’m just saying that we shouldn’t be surprised if another offer goes out, or Alford hits the trail looking at other RBs

Zach Smith is making rumors about a 5 star flip with no more details which way .. in or out
I’ve seen that he could be talking about Dante Moore flipping from Oregon to MSU…

from 11W forum TIFWIW.....

no one in Columbus actually believes that Mark Fletcher has any interest in other schools but that, like so many young players around the country right now, NIL opportunities are opening doors with family members that would have otherwise been closed.

It's expected that Fletcher will return to see the Buckeyes for the game against Michigan on Nov. 26. If he does, he may find that he's not the only running back in the Class of 2023 in attendance.
