That is not the farm they are referring to though.
What does $100K matter when you are going to make around $10 mil for the game. Hopefully this will help.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Ohio State is poised to replace the turf in Ohio Stadium for the second time in just over a month...
"It?s all about the team; we?ve got the No. 1 team in the country and it deserves to play on the best surface we can provide," OSU assistant athletic director for facilities management Don Patko said last night.
OSU athletic director Gene Smith and the school?s "turf committee" were seen inspecting the field soon after the game and apparently made the decision then to have it replaced.

Ohio State to replace stadium turf for second time this season

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) ? For the second time in five weeks, Ohio State will tear out the grass at Ohio Stadium and replace it.
Workers began taking out the old field on Monday and will begin replacing it with sod from a Columbus-area nursery on Wednesday.
There is only one home game remaining, but it's the biggest one of the year ? the top-ranked Buckeyes playing No. 2 Michigan on Nov. 18.
The turf was replaced for about $100,000 after the home game with Penn State on Sept. 24. Since then, the Buckeyes have hosted three games on it.
During Saturday's 44-0 victory over Minnesota, the field looked tattered around the edges and brown in the end zone. Several players appeared to slip down or slide on the turf. Large chunks of turf were kicked up whenever there was a tackle.
"If they have a weakness, it's a lousy field," Minnesota coach Glen Mason said after the game, adding that he was joking. He later returned to the subject, however.
"They just replaced the field, right?" Mason said. "They need a new gardener."

Honestly, if this new turf helps OSU win the game, it may pay dividends in the tens of millions (assuming we also win in Glendale).Thump;647497; said:BTW, wonder if the athletic dept. had a big time donor come in a decide to foot the bill?
