Just finished Broken Steel, of all three, it was the best, the continuation was cool, most of the new perks are pretty useless, but otherwise, well worth the download. Just a heads up, I don't know how many of you play on hard or very hard modes, but in very hard the final mission was quite the bitch.

It doesn't sound like they are done making addons for this game yet and PS3 owners are finally getting some love with DLC content for this game.

Fallout: Welcome to the Official Site

We are pleased to announce that Fallout? 3 downloadable content (DLC) is coming to PLAYSTATION?3 computer entertainment system. We have been working on implementing it for a while and look forward to bringing it to PS3 gamers via the PlayStation Network. Operation: Anchorage will be released for PS3 in late June, followed by the release of The Pitt and Broken Steel 4-6 weeks apart. Release dates will be forthcoming.
In addition, a new update will be released for PS3 that will allow users to download and play the new DLC. The release date for that update will be announced at a later date.
There are also two new DLCs planned for all three platforms:

  • Point Lookout ? Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content.
  • Mothership Zeta ? The aliens have returned, and they're [censored]ed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you're tough enough to survive.
Point Lookout will be available in late June for Xbox 360 and PC. Cost will be 800 points or $9.99. It will be available through Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live and through token cards available at retail. Point Lookout will be available on PS3 after the first three DLCs have been released.

Mothership Zeta is scheduled for release in late July for Xbox 360 and PC. Cost will be 800 points or $9.99. It will be available through Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live and through token cards available at retail. Mothership Zeta will be available on PS3 after Point Lookout.

Finally, new Fallout 3 products will be available at retail this year.
Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #1 includes The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage on a disc and will be available for Xbox 360 and PC on May 26.

The Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #2 includes Broken Steel and Point Lookout on a disc and will be available for Xbox 360 and PC in August.
Retail versions of the game add-on packs for PS3 are not possible and the DLC will only be available for download online via PlayStation Network.

A Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition will be available in October. It will include the original game plus all five add-ons for $59.99 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and $49.99 for PC.

I finally downloaded Operation Anchorage and The Pitt. Pitt was worth the $10 or so I thought, took a few nights to complete and the moral choices left me wondering which side to go with as a good guy. Gonna play through on my bad character later.

I'm a little annoyed that I had to upgrade to download those two expansions because upgrading to version 1.5 killed some of my mods, and as a result killed my game. Couldn't save and do other things without crashing. Found a way around it with the FOMM utility download, which I liked. Haven't tried out the FOOK mod yet. Some of the ones I've liked:

Existence 2.0, nice radio station with a crazy robot and creepy music: Existence 2_0 at Fallout 3 Nexus - Fallout 3 mods and community
Enhanced Night Sky: Enhanced Night Sky at Fallout 3 Nexus - Fallout 3 mods and community
Flesh Burning Plasma Weapons, like the old school ones from Fallout 1&2 that melted the skin off the skeleton: Flesh-burning Plasma Weapons at Fallout 3 Nexus - Fallout 3 mods and community
Benjamins that look like Benjamins: 3 Flavors of American Prewar Money at Fallout 3 Nexus - Fallout 3 mods and community
Duracell Microfusion Cell - Someone retrextured the Microfusion to look like a copper top. It even looks this way when you reload, I think its hilarious. Theres another that someone did with Engergizer: Duracell Microfusion Cell at Fallout 3 Nexus - Fallout 3 mods and community

Theres also an Aquariam with moving fish that someone made. Theres the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly song clips that someone did, but it looks like that mod got pulled, still have it. Theres a few weapon retexture mods for high def weapons. I tried to install one for the outdoor textures, but it made even my high end computer cry on max settings in the wilderness. I played around with the GECK and made a rifle that has the same projectile and power as Liberty Prime's laser, fun to play around with after beating the game a few times. Then, of course, theres the female body, face, and hair replacers...very nice

For those of you that may be interested, and have the PC version, I've started a little mod project using the GECK. Its a tower in the middle of the wasteland map, almost a carbon copy of Tenpeny Tower. I haven't added any NPCs yet, and the player's room is currently locked until I play around with the settings and such, but feel free to take a look. I'm open to suggestions, I plan on fixing the exterior up a bit, getting the player's room set, and then adding NPCs and possibly quests.

I've uploaded a new version for the mod. I've cleaned up the exterior a bit, made it look nicer. Its a real bitch to try and line crap up without using the Snap To function in the GECK. I setup the entire exterior without it because I didn't realize you could adjust the focus/reference point, ARGH!

I also added a basement that will later serve as an Armory, along with a secret entrance from the backyard. Here are some screenshots I uploaded a few days ago. No pictures of the courtyard and basement yet:

Its pretty good. I'm not quite finished yet, I think its worth the cash.

It has an Evil Dead kind of feel to it, especially with the double barreled shotgun. Theres definitly a few spooky parts that leave you on the edge of your seat. Theres also a point where your player starts trippin' and seeing things...that whole scenario is entertaining and half the reason to get the expansion in my opinion.

In comparison, the map is pretty large for Point Lookout. A lot of it is bogs and marshland, but theres plenty to explore. In scale its about as large as the Pitt yet more enjoyable.

I have it, haven't played it yet though, the Pitt was good and I have heard it's better than the Pitt from most players. Overall, having seen the DLC's for Oblivion, I have to say that's the one area they really improved on, Oblivion DLC was "here's a house, how about some armor for your horse, or a weak ass quest, we promise that we'll do something soon" But all of Fallout 3's DLC's have been enjoyable and worth playing.

Thanks, I'll probably download it.

Downloaded Mothership Zeta this week. Its a nice shift from Point Lookout. Point Lookout was spooky/creepy/Evil Dead feeling, which I love. Everything was dark and misty though, tough playing in a constant haze like that. The Alien ship is bright and clean, for the most part (Till I leave a trail of Alien guts). Some of the new weapons are nice, and theres plenty of Alien ammo, which is always good.

Anyone interested in getting the GOTY edition can try the following (courtesy of slickdeals and cheapassgamer).

Target.com is showing the GOTY available, in stores only, for $39.99 (for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions). You have to click on the "add to cart" links to show the actual sale price. The Target stores apparently don't actually have the GOTY version available, only the regular version at that price, so going to Target for the game is a waste of time.

But if you take printouts of the screens to your nearest Best Buy, they seem to be price matching without much issue. I did this last night and the customer service gal must have looked it up online to verify and gave me the PM. Some are reporting that many of the customer service workers aren't even looking them up online and are just using the printouts.
