Some soulless bastard broke into my car last night. I have a parking spot in the alley behind our condo building. I was walking down the alley to my car and as soon as I could see my car, I saw the shattered glass. My heart just sank, I am so [censored]ed off. They stole my Tumi duffle bag, Beats headphones, various workout clothes, Shell credit card and some chase gift cards. I think that is all--[Mark May] I hope that is all.

Filed a police report, which obviously will do no good. Now I have to wait a couple hours until a glass repair shop opens up. Not a good way to start my Friday.

My sympathies wood. About three years ago someone broke into my VW in Queens while I was at my gf's place. I had rings from the suction cup window mount for my gps, so they figured I had one in the car. Smashed my passenger side window and got squat. Next morning, NYs finest took over two hours to show up. I then had to drive the thing home - in January.

I frequently go back and forth on whether I wish I would have caught the little bastard in the act or not. In all seriousness, a NY jury probably wouldnt look too kindly on beating someone within an inch of their life in defense of property. Would make me feel better though......

In any event, from then on I always only use the dash mount for my GPS. Leaves no tell-tale rings....

Steven Tyler?s $1.1 million, 1,244 HP convertible
Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler just took delivery of the world's fastest convertible. The Hennessey Venom GT Spyder will accelerate to 200mph in 15.9 seconds, eight seconds faster than a Bugatti Veyron. Tyler was the first person to ask if he could have his without a top.

"Steven came to us last year and asked if we could build his Venom GT as a roadster," says John Hennessey. "We had to make a few structural changes to our integrated rollcage in order to be able to fit the removable top. This increased the weight of our vehicle by about 30 lbs to a curb weight of 2743 lbs (1244 kilograms). We decided to increase the Venom GTs power to 1244 bhp to maintain our 1 horsepower per 1 kilogram power to weight ratio."

Only five Venom GTs will be built this year and Tyler's remains the only convertible. At a price of $1.1 million for the Lotus Exige chassis lengthened and braced to make room for a 7.0-liter, twin-turbo V8, it's easy to understand why interested customers are few and far between.

When Matt rode in a prototype a year ago, he described the hand-built supercar as, "the best way to die."

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse

http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motora...itesse-punch-buttons-motoramic-200412174.html

As of today, there are four Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse roadsters in the world, the fastest open-topped cars ever built, each valued at a minimum of $2.4 million and capable of hitting 255 mph. Driving one feels like the ultimate cheat code in the video game of life; maximum power, near invincibility and all the coins. It's also a peek inside the hidden kingdom of Bugatti owners, where $20,000 tire changes seem logical.
First, some genealogy: The Grand Sport Vitesse is the final evolution of the Bugatti Veyron launched in 2005. Those cars had 1,001 horsepower from their 16-cylinder, quad-turbocharged engines; the Grand Sport Vitesse makes an even 1,200 hp, combined with a sleeker body, suspension changes and a removable roof. After building about 350 Veyrons, Bugatti has vowed to build about 100 more.

<snip>

Sitting low in the Veyron's cockpit feels like steering a swank tank, what with the leather from Austrian cows raised — and I'm not making this up — in pastures with no barbed wire and at altitudes where mosquitoes can't reach so that their hides create flawless leather.

A good friend of mine bought a 67 Shelby about 15 years ago for 50k. Car is 100% original - paint, carpet, everything. I dont know what it would take him to sell it, but it would have to be serious chunk of change.

We have some interesting car conversations. He's a Detroit muscle car freak, and Im a Porsche fanatic. Talk about two different philosophies.

The Middle East must be a really weird place, because I have to assume this multimillion dollar McLaren is going there. Somewhere the F1 is rolling over in its...just kidding they are obviously all in garages and have never been driven.

Edit: This is the McLaren X1 one-off.

Edit 2: Baby got...something on its ass that needs to be checked out by a doctor.

WSJ - Dan Neil - Get More From Less

Review of 2013 Bentley Continental GT V8:

Dan Neil said:
Fear not, Bentley reuppers, the V8 retains all of the C-GT's refinement but wreathes it in the V8's aural sfumato: a guttering of lava at low rpms, a free-revving incandescence near its 7,000-rpm redline, spinning like the bobbins of Satan's sewing machine. Oh, baby, this car sounds amazing....

So, to recap: lighter, vastly more fuel efficient, at least as awesome to drive. Cheaper, too.... So what objection could there be to the V8? It has to do with typology. As a type, in the modern era, Bentley equals exclusive British grand touring car with 12 cylinders. To stick a V8 in this car?especially the twin-turbo V8 from the Audi S8, an engine that practically stinks of bratwurst?is to significantly change the British brand's conversation with the client, ja?
