Nice call... I had my picture taken next to one (black with some yellow highlights) in February on Rodeo Drive... there were several nice Ferrari's and a bunch of Bentley GT's (although you see those in Columbus from time to time so not as impressive as the Bugatti)...

Dan Neil of the Wall Street Journal reviews the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder: 887 horsepower, 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, top speed of 211 mph, completed the Nurburgring in a production-car record time of 6:57 ... and it gets 79 mpg on the highway.

Dan Neil said:
If you have to own a car that, fair and square, empirically and probably, just is the highest performing sports car of the early 21st century, your next car is the Porsche 918 Spyder, which begins in serial production Wednesday. And Porsche will build 918 copies.

Actually, the 918 is eligible for a potential $3,667 federal tax credit for purchase of advanced hybrid vehicles, if you were on the fence about that $845,000 MSRP.

Nissan GTR Nismo

Adolescent video game addicts, strident fanboys and curdled automotive journalists like to complain about the Nissan GT-R. They say it is too Brobdingnagian, too rattly and unrefined, too carousing and inelegant, too focused on trick technological solutions that make driving it impossibly quick far too simple.
They’re right.
It is also monumentally, stupendously, idiotically fun, and a lark from which you’ll never forget soaring. Driving a GT-R is like going over Niagara Falls in a barrel. If the barrel were a padded rubber ball the size of the Astrodome. And filled with fuzzy puppies. And laughing gas. And jelly beans.
Now seven years old, and having reached maturity — or what passes for maturity —Nissan has decided to inject a bit more amusement into its behemoth amusement park. Today it unveiled the NISMO GT-R, an upgraded, up-powered iteration of this endorphin IV, with bigger turbos, custom Bilstein suspension components, custom Dunlop tires and an assortment of gilled, straked, and unwrinkled carbon trim bits hovering around the vehicle’s peripheries to create the downforce necessary to prevent it from becoming an unmanageable airborne event.
Oh, and 600 horsepower.

Wow, cannot imagine the trouble I would get into with that car.
Hey @THEWOOD how's the S5? When we were talking back when you picked it up I think I mentioned the potential for carbon buildup in the FSI engine which is one of the reasons I went with the S4 as opposed to the RS4... Anyhow... A buddy of mine just got a new S5 a few months ago... Saw his last night and it made me wonder of you've had any power loss?

I actually dont have the S5 anymore. Once my wife got pregnant last fall, I traded it in and we bought a Q5.

However a few months ago, I got sick of only having 1 car. So I went out and got a 2014 S4. I absolutely love the S4. I like it better than the S5. Now I really only drive it around town and have only gotten to open it up a couple times. But man it can move and I love the new exhaust system that lets you decide the sound. I havent even put 1000 miles on it yet, so its still basically a new toy, however I dont think I have had this much driving a car before.

The bi turbo V6 is an interesting engine. With any turbo the tuning is easy... looks like Stasis has a good one for the B8 S4s. Driven a couple and I really like them a lot. Totally different exhaust notes than the V8, but it more than makes up for it in the ass hauling department. I wish that it still had more of the muscle car feel of the V8, but for the quickness and MPG, I could be persuaded to get past that.

Every day I watch my boys get in my car and I know that I'm counting the days before the rag top becomes a garage queen. I just turned 37K on it... No doubt the B8 S4 will be the replacement for the daily driver, provided the RS4 Avant is still not an option. Either way, I just had the ECU remapped and when I get the exhaust done (spring), it should be pushing north of 400 Hp at the crank. Even without the exhaust the torque down low is much better. I know Audi left a lot on the shop floor to keep the S4 differentiated from the RS4, but it's a shame that they didn't even come close to making the V8 in the B7 S4 what it could be.

Congrats on the new ride! We should get together for a driving event in the spring.
