LSU QB Perrilloux cited for misdemeanor, suspended from team

LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux was suspended indefinitely from the football team after a meeting with coach Les Miles earlier this week.

LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette said Miles met with his player after hearing that Perrilloux, 20, was issued a misdemeanor summons by police when he allegedly tried to use his brother?s driver?s license to get onto the Hollywood Casino gambling boat.

Bonnette said the Saturday incident was the catalyst for the suspension but not the only reason.

Perrilloux could rejoin the team at Miles? discretion, Bonnette said, but at this point he will not be involved in the team?s official activities.

QB Ryan Perrilloux walks off the LSU football team?


There's quite a bit of smoke coming from several LSU message boards indicating that QB Ryan Perrilloux has left the Tigers football team.
While I have to urge a HUGE grain of salt, the reports go something like this....
Due to an ongoing dispute between Perrilloux's mother and LSU -- potentially stemming from Ryan's mother trying to shake down the school -- the projected starting quarterback has cleaned out his locker and left the team. Perrilloux reportedly missed a team meeting this week, but his absence is clouded by reports that Perrilloux was attending his father's funeral.​

Best wishes to Perrilloux if the reports of his father passing away are accurate.

Hope he is able to do what he thinks is right for himself in this situation, and isn't being pushed by his mom into making a bad choice.

Likely a huge conspiracy by LSU to get back in the derby for a certain western PA. qb! :wink2: Seriously, what wouldn't suprise me is if there aren't a
bunch of knuckleheads on another board fretting over this very idea.

I hope everything works out for Mr. Perrilloux.

According to that article, he's suspended indefinitely (as he was last May).

It mentions him missing classes and "team activities" over the past few weeks.

I'm not sure whats going on right now. LSU is keeping it pretty tight lipped so far. Deke usually has decent info (but rarely is the 1st to report it), and to my knowledge doesn't engage in just flinging rumors around, so I have no idea what the hell is going on up in Baton Rouge right now.

I find it odd that NONE of the other local strations are reporting this AT ALL. Like I said before, Deke usually has good info, but sometimes I think he gets it from the evening news (meaning he's usually pretty late on reporting it). So far, he's the only guy that seems to be sticking his neck out and reporting this one.

Some have made mention of "rumors" existing, but none of them mention what the rumors are. There's got to be more to this than what's been released so far.

I was told even rivals has it up now.

Kinda sucks. Looks like we may be heading into the seson with Jarett Lee as our QB. Dude is supposed to be good (reportedly challenged RP for playing time last year), but exactly ZERO career snaps so far kinda scares me.

Edit: It's on LSU's website now, which should be enough to remove the "rumor" tag.
