Ex-LSU QB Ryan Perrilloux (official thread)

There are even some that are saying that it is a plan to get Terrelle Pryor and that RP took the suspension as a recruiting tool.

Someone posted that sarcastically on Tigerforums too.

Most "sane" tiger fans are getting a little tired of his off field "issues" now. I wish the kid best of luck, and hope whatever this is gets cleared up. He's extremely talented, and could use his experience. However, if he can't keep his nose clean, I think it's time to cut our losses and get our freshmen ready to go. I'd hate for something to come up mid-season and us be in a situation of having to throw some other kid to the wolves.

Well, it is the third strike...

Will Les man up or pray for a misdemeanor like Bobby?

Warsaw Rules = Bayou Rules?

What do your frosh bring to the table? Pryor's an exciting athlete with enormous potential, but a bit raw as a passer. I'm curious (merely hypothetically) what he'd be up against if he changes his long-time destination of choice and heads to the bayou.
hey i like you guys around here too.
Let's not get reckless with plurals.

Also have a kid named Andrew Hatch (will be a jr. next season). No bio on him. He did play a little in the Middle Tennesse game last year. Pretty decent runner (nothing spectacular though). Word on him is he transferred from Harvard to learn SEC football (he wants to coach somewhere after college).

I don't know what's going to happen. A guy I know who writes for LSU's school paper says it's more of a "take some time off to deal with your situation (his dad's death)" kind of thing. Says he didn't communicate well with the coaching staff as to how much time he would take off, what classes/meetings he'd miss. IF that's the case, then I don't see him getting kicked off the team.

Now, if he's just runnin' around cutting class for no apparent reason, and blowing off team meetings, then that might be a different story.

I can say from unfortunate experience that losing his father would make just about everything else in his life unimportant. I was 12 years old when my father left me suddenly, and everything in my life changed in an instance. I can remember looking around and wondering how the rest of the world could go on like nothing happened when my world was completely upside down. Nobody can understand what you feel unless they themselves have been through it. Even at 20 or 21 years old Perrilloux is still a kid and has to be confused at what has just happened. I hope that no trouble has found him right now because his senses are not where they should be. I know from going over to various Tiger forums for info that they take a BP like stance on posters making inappropriate attacks on student athletes. Before anyone passes judgement right now I would ask them to look around at the people most important to them and just try to imagine one of those people being gone forever. That is the pain this kid is really feeling right now. I wish him the best, not as a football player from LSU, as a fellow human being.

Well, it is terrible that his dad passed, but I find it hard to believe that with the invention of the cell phone, a simple "Time to get back now, Ryan" call from the staff would not have occured. I mean, it is hard to stay out of touch in today's world. If he was told something and decided to go his own way, then it is troubling.

I get you about his dad, but I have a hard time believing that he went "walkabout" for a few weeks. But I hope that he gets his shit together. The brass ring is not so far away, and the number of chances for a guy from his background to hit it big are limited. He has the chance to take a big stage with LSU, and to achieve his goals. But eventually it is about team goals too, and he has to think about that even more.

Your hand will get awfully tired patting everyone on the back who thought of that... just from the osu fanbase alone.
Very true JWins. I was just the the guy killin time in the middle of the night in the Perrilloux thread. :) From what I just saw everyone else on BP is partying on the hotties with douches thread.

All bullshit aside Jwins, it will be fun to know after we sign TP :
A.) Each of the mods thoughts (predictions ) on:
B.)Whether Les Miles will be in contact with with qb in question during the next week.

According to Pryor, Miles wasn't one of the coaches he's been in contact with. Now, that doesn't mean Les won't give it a try, but I think it's too late in the game to go after him. If you try now, it's basically telling the kid "we're not interested in you. Unless we lose our starter". And I don't know too many people that would jump at that type of offer.

Dubois opines on RP

The finish line is in sight, but not in a promising way for Perrilloux.
For more than his three years as an LSU recruit and player, Perrilloux
has been unbreakable. Therein lies his incredible gifts as an athlete.
Therein lies the problem as he settles into his third confirmed LSU
suspension in nine months.
His is a most remarkable reset button.

At 14 he jumped out from behind a corner
of the house to scare his sister. Her date, not
knowing who was behind the mask Perrilloux playfully
wore, shot him in the chest.

The bullet pierced his liver, his diaphragm, both lungs,
the top of his stomach and came close to his heart.
