Ex-LSU QB Ryan Perrilloux (official thread)

Reports: LSU QB Subject of Fed. Probe

LSU backup quarterback Ryan Perrilloux is the subject of a federal criminal investigation, two Louisiana radio stations reported late Wednesday. The reports, on New Orleans radio station WWL and Baton Rouge radio station WJBO, did not give further details on the alleged investigation.

Baton Rouge attorney Nathan Fisher has reportedly been hired to represent Fisher. When contacted by WAFB 9NEWS, Fisher declined comment.

Word of a possible federal probe against Perriloux has been circulating for several days, mostly on sports-related internet chat sites. For the past several days, LSU officials have denied any knowledge of the investigation.

Federal investigators have repeatedly denied official comment. Federal sources have hinted that they are still trying to determine if Perrilloux is indeed tied to any wrongdoing.

LSU Head Football Coach Les Miles told WAFB 9NEWS he had no knowledge of an investigation against his player. "I know nothing about what you're talking about," Miles said. "I do not know if he's in any trouble whatsoever."

RUMOR: Ryan Perilloux to be indicted? The hot rumor going around right now is that Ryan Perilloux is involved in some kind of counterfeiting ring and is the subject of a federal investigation.

This rumor has been gaining steam, and now Mike Scarborough has come out and said it looks like Perilloux is the subject of some kind of investigation, there are 40 people involved, and Perilloux is the only LSU player.

However, the other rumor going is that this may subject LSU to sanctions and even forfeiting there Sugar Bowl win.

Details are supposed to pop up within the next 48 hours.

That's what is floating around in the blogosphere right now....

Get kinda sick of the negative pub out there and I usually don't comment on it, but something always struck me as shady about Perriloux...we'll see what unravels here. Intriguing!

Yeah it is....

Originally I was trying to get a feel from LSU fans on who would replace JaMarcus Russell and I found that instead

Should be fun to watch at least....

It is pretty funny because some of the posts on the board are saying that this all about unpaid traffic or parking tiks. Those are the "bright" ones 'cause I don't know how the federal gov't gives a rip about unpaid fines. Some others on the board are saying at least we aren't A&M with all the thugs that have been arrested, at least we aren't xx university, etc. etc.

if there is anything good and holy, forfeiture will not be a punishment. i don't care if a notre ame bowl victory is just on paper... i don't want it anywhere.

...

Privately, however, school officials strove to tamp down rumors that Perrilloux had been kicked off the team or that his presence with the Tigers had become an unwelcome distraction.

“Absolutely not. That would mean LSU had one quarterback on scholarship,” one said, when asked if the school was looking to sever its relationship with Perrilloux.

Hello. New to the forum, and found this thread about Perriloux. Wanted to share what I know as an LSU fan. At first there were rumors of parking/traffic tickets, but as mentioned above, makes no sense for feds to be involved for that. Then the rumors really started getting crazy-credit card fraud, using cc's in a casino, (kid's only 20 years old, so BEING in a casino is bad enough), courier for a counterfeiter, and on and on..., before finally some realistic info came out. According to the latest, he exchanged a counterfeit $20 bill when purchasing gas, and the cashier caught it. He was indeed QUESTIONED by feds, and has hired an attorney, but according to authorities, he hasn't been arrested, nor is it likely that he will be. On our forum, this has basically dropped off the radar since that news came out. The feel I get is that it was WAAAAY overhyped at first, and that he will not be subject to any disciplinary action. We are all just waiting to see what happens next, but there has been no news in the last several days.

If the FBI is investigating, then it has nothing to do with counterfeit currency. That's the secret service's department.

So is credit card fraud.

The FBI was probably just assumed to be involved when people started talking about "the Feds".

RP looked like one of those "can't miss" kids out of HS. He looked pretty good in the AAA game, too.
