BP has a policy of not having posts that simply ask if there's any news on a topic, since it bumps the thread when there is no need for it.

If there is news, it will get posted in a timely manner.

The latest info I know if is here: Dispatch - which anybody could have found by googling 'ohio state' and 'espn lawsuit'.

Thank you for the explanation. I had googled it and did get that result and others. I also searched this forum for any update and didn't see any so in the most appropriate thread I could find, I asked since there was nothing since october 12th from the lantern (http://www.thelantern.com/campus/espn-osu-submit-evidence-in-supreme-court-1.2645362#.TsxDifIvBY0).

putting money and speculating on hypothetical situations with absolutely no chance of being proven one way or the other, and yet taking the opportunity to use said completely fictitious hypothetical situation to denigrate one conference while fluffing another... how exactly is that not parroting ESPN talking points again?

Oh you mean like someone stating that Arky in the B1G would struggle to stay in the Top 10? Are you freakin kidding me??? OK, so you may not like to hear this, but the SEC IS the top conference in the country. And they ARE a step better than the B1G. So the suggestion that moving Arky from that conference to the B1G would result in them being is WORSE position is laughable. But carry on parroting your own ignorance.

Riiiiiiiiight. Whatever makes you feel better.

Oh goodness, whatever shall I do in the face of such withering passive aggressiveness? :roll2:

Maybe it would help if I blathered on about how the SEC is so teh azsom at carnt be besteesstt....

Jesus even jokingly climbing on that bandwagon drops the IQ 100 pts.

If Arkansas were in the B1G it's entirely reasonable to argue that they would have a loss. That exact same 1 loss Arkansas team would also probably not be ranked in the top 5. That was the point being made by Buckeye86 and it is one that is completely valid.

Now calm the fuck down.

I think the SEC is better this year. I don't think it's a bandwagon thing. I also think they've tended to be better recently. Again, not a bandwagon thing, I wish I didn't feel that way.

Is that all this is about?

EDIT: Nevermind, ninja edit above.

Actually that was someone elses point despite matcar misdirecting his rage at me about it. My point was that it is impossible to know one way or the other so let's try not to parrot ESPN talking points. Those fucks really are destroying college football one billion dollar, coverage distorting contract at a time.

The absolute latest info on OSU/ESPN suit is that Ohio State must file a brief by the end of this month. ESPN will then have time to respond. An Assistant Attorney General with the U.S. Department of Justice has requested pro hac vice to file an amicus brief in support of the university's position on FERPA.

Probably won't get a ruling until January.

I guess the name of the game is "Delay, Delay, Delay" right. I'm thinking the NCAA will have handed down sanctions by then.

For the life of me, I'm really wondering what's going to happen if the Big Ten takes FOX's truck-load of money in 2016 and cuts all ties with ESPN and CBS for football/basketball. FOX can then show games on FOX national instead of FSN/FX.

It's also entirely likely that they wouldn't have lost at all considering how very mediocre this conference is this year. Reminder that the original dumbas$ post suggested that they'd barely be in the Top 10. Even assuming one loss, I find that laughable considering where the current 1 loss teams stand in the polls. So no, his point wasn't valid.

And my point was directed at the original poster that suggested that Arky would barely be in the Top 10 if they were in the B1G. So, for THAT strawman, I took correct exception. Yeah, it IS impossible to KNOW what would happen, but when someone ELSE suggests something within that scenario, I would think it would make sense to understand my point. My apologies for giving you too much credit.

Are-kansas has beaten one team this year that is currently ranked, a shorthanded South Carolina. They also have close wins against such powers as Vandy, Ole Miss, and Troy. They got their ass handed to them by the one legit team they've faced (bammer). I think they're number three because they've played a pretty soft schedule, are 10-1, are in the SEC, and many teams ahead of them have lost in recent weeks (while they've knocked off Miss State and the worst Tennessee team in decades). I think they could very well lose to 2-3 teams in the B1G. I think they're very overrated, so much so that I think at least 1/2 of the current top-25 could/would beat them.
