ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

It is sad to watch these clowns on Game Day, now I know why I rarely watch it. To think that the meatchicken man is the only one that gets the Penn State scenario is mind boggling. Frosted Tips and Pollack are just embarresements....

Have the SEC network on in the background after the UF UK game and happen to hear this dumbfuck say, and I quote "conferences are getting picked on like the Big Ten, nobody can say a negative thing about the southeastern conference."

If I were sitting on a chair I would have fell of onto my fucking face, omg :slappy:. It was because UK is now legit, it doesn't take away from UF being good, and UT should have only lost by 10. Holy shit that's good.

The ESPiN argument--that the B1G champ is out already--is motivated by commercial considerations and is bogus. For sure, the B1G is very weak, even MAC-like in its bottom half. Even so, if Ohio State wins every game by four touchdowns plus and plays lights out, they probably will get a chance. I don't think that many posters expect that.

I think we all know that is not likely to happen. Looking at game film today is going to give the Buckeyes lots to think about. Many BP posters could have made some of those throws against that secondary yesterday. There were some silly mistakes on both sides of the ball. It's hard to get revved for in a rout, but the crowd did not impress. When computer models on home field advantage show Ohio Stadium as one of the easiest places to play, there is something very wrong.

But, there were manymore positives than negatives to take forward. They played much better as units and got some confidence. They won against an over-matched opponent the way that they should. The bench got time on the field and gained experience.

Yesterday was exactly what was needed entering a bye week after a disappointing loss. I'm optimistic that they can still win the B1G and get into a good bowl game.

I think that is becoming common in Big Ten games. Tickets got too expensive, so students don't fill the stands unless they get the cheaper student tickets, which I think is only the south end zone. Alums for the most part fill the stands. There is a definite noise difference between an Ohio State game and a Florida game. In Gainesville students fill most of both end zones and one sideline with about 1/4 of that set aside for away team, alum section is upper deck of each end zone and one of the sidelines. They also have discounted tickets for recent alums in two of the corners, trying to keep a younger crowd. I looked at cost of tickets this year and the Kent State tickets were more than 3x the cost of the E Michigan tickets for the same area on the secondary market. The VT tickets also 2-3x the cost of the South Carolina or LSU home tickets in the same area. Don't even get me going on the ttun game, that would be over a grand for 2 mediocre tickets. The way the tickets get sold has basically priced the younger/ louder crowd out of the game, which happens when demand is so high that every game sells out. Only way to combat this is to set aside more tickets for students, closer to 40k. And get them scattered throughout the lower bowl all around rather than cramming them in one spot. If the south end zone is for students, reserve the north end zone for recent alums. Older guys don't want those junk tickets anyhow, while recent, poorer alums just want to be there and be loud. The shoe would become a much more difficult place to play.

I'm sure a lot of this is true and the stadium could be noisier. But it has seemed plenty noisy. We just need to win those games.

Steve Spurrier Trolls Georgia, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum All In One Quote

The No. 24 South Carolina Gamecocks knocked off the No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday night. Whenever South Carolina gets a big win, you know that any post-game interview with head coach Steve Spurrier is going to be remarkably entertaining.

And Spurrier didn’t disappoint, taking a shot at ESPN college football analyst and radio host Paul Finebaum.

Steve Spurrier: "I knew we had a good chance to beat them when I heard Finebaum pick them to win by 20 points."

Update: Paul Finebaum has responded, claiming that he picked South Carolina to win on SEC Nation earlier in the day. Perhaps Spurrier misheard him – either that or he’s pulling a fast one on all of us.
