If MSU is "IN" if they run the table, then OSU should be in the same boat if they run the table.
We're not stupid. We understand their argument, it's just that it's fucking dumb.Their argument is that Sparty was dominant against Oregon for about 3 quarters, then remembered they were Sparty.
Buckeyes lost against a Bud Foster defense that played lights out, then couldn't figure out the next week that 12 > 11.
Well, when the "credible" opponents only become "credible" by beating tOSU, I'd say it's a rather unscientific approach.I don't know if computer models have shown that and I know it gets loud, but our performance in non conference matchup against credible opponents suggest that it's not a big deal.
I think that is becoming common in Big Ten games. Tickets got too expensive, so students don't fill the stands unless they get the cheaper student tickets, which I think is only the south end zone. Alums for the most part fill the stands. There is a definite noise difference between an Ohio State game and a Florida game. In Gainesville students fill most of both end zones and one sideline with about 1/4 of that set aside for away team, alum section is upper deck of each end zone and one of the sidelines. They also have discounted tickets for recent alums in two of the corners, trying to keep a younger crowd. I looked at cost of tickets this year and the Kent State tickets were more than 3x the cost of the E Michigan tickets for the same area on the secondary market. The VT tickets also 2-3x the cost of the South Carolina or LSU home tickets in the same area. Don't even get me going on the ttun game, that would be over a grand for 2 mediocre tickets. The way the tickets get sold has basically priced the younger/ louder crowd out of the game, which happens when demand is so high that every game sells out. Only way to combat this is to set aside more tickets for students, closer to 40k. And get them scattered throughout the lower bowl all around rather than cramming them in one spot. If the south end zone is for students, reserve the north end zone for recent alums. Older guys don't want those junk tickets anyhow, while recent, poorer alums just want to be there and be loud. The shoe would become a much more difficult place to play. When computer models on home field advantage show Ohio Stadium as one of the easiest places to play, there is something very wrong.
I'm sure a lot of this is true and the stadium could be noisier. But it has seemed plenty noisy. We just need to win those games.I think that is becoming common in Big Ten games.
