ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

Listening to Gameday talk about the BCS standings and defending Alabama's strength of schedule Is just hilarious. These guys, especially frosted tips and Pollack when talking about this and tOSU are just ass clowns....oooooh here comes Baylor the Buckeyes better win impressively or they will get jumped. Same guys that blasted us for blowing out FAMU right....
There was your first mistake. Why? To hear what the script writers tell them to say? You can watch any sitcom and get as much useful information.

I don't know. I think that sports media as a whole is just horrible. I just lobbed a call onto Jack Arute's (who I thought was a stand up guy) show on XM Sirius, and asked the following question about Pelini, Martinez, and the Huskers (paraphrased):

"How does a coach decide to run an injured player out there? Does he listen to the kid and ask, 'Can you go,' or does he go with his gut and say, 'Not today.' Basically, It's obvious Martinez wasn't doing too well out there, but at what point does the coach override his senior qb and say, 'Good game, now we gotta do some other stuff to give us a lift.'"

I asked Rich Newheisel the question. I called in and said, "This question is for Coach Newheisel, cause you're uniquely qualified to answer this question (being a former Pro and College both QB and Coach)."

Newheisel answered my question quite elegantly by basically saying, "Martinez wasn't right out there, he could see it, and that if he's not mobile, he's an average at best QB that you can scheme against."

Arute snorts....yes, SNORTED....and then promptly goes to lamblast me for trying to torpedo Bo Pelini's career.

Um....

The lowly, non-alumnus, non-season ticket holder, web developer in Omaha can torpedo Coach Pelini's career? Seems the guy is doing a bang up job of that all by his lonesome.

No wonder Arute isn't at TexPN anymore. I guess even they have standards.
