Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim

So I finally maxed out smithing and enchanting and collected enough ebony ingots/daedra hearts/dragon bones/dragon scales to do HOURS of crafting and enchanting. I got my full Daedric/Dragonscale/Dragonplate sets along with them completely enchanted (except the Dragonplate...I think I'll make that my mage set, but I haven't decided yet). It feels pretty freaking good, not going to lie..haven't even tried it out yet.

With full Dragonplate and all of the heavy armor bonuses I'm pretty much impervious to physical attacks. I haven't even enchanted anything yet, because I'm not sure what I want to do.

I did the Daedric as my offensive gear, the Plate as mages stuff and scale as sneaking stuff. I'm sure there will be things I want to change, tho. The double enchant on each item is key.

I just crafted a brand new set of Orcish heavy armor that I will probably be rolling around in for awhile.

I'm delaying maxing out the smithing skill (I'm at 51 or so right now) because I feel like it is too simple to level up with iron daggers. I jump about ten levels at a time when the mood strikes me (usually after I get my ass kicked and need an upgrade) with long gaps in-between.

I need to start playing this again, its sat idle for about a month.

I found myself in a rather dire situation and just saved and quit, should be interesting to fight my way out of that one when I load the game.

I'm maxed on Smithing, but I still have yet to learn the Dragon Armor skill. I just love my Daedric armor. I don't even sneak anymore. Instead, I just charge right in and smashkilldestroy.

I'm the exact opposite.. I'm playing an archer/thief, so I don't use heavy armor. I'm still debating how far I want to go with smithing. I want to max it out, but if I do it'll just be so my armor mannequins look nice.

This character is so much fun to play though.

I see few reasons to not unlock perks for smithing. Dragon armor has both light and heavy varieties, so unlocking that ability in particular can have benefits for most characters. Plus, what else are you going to do with those dragon bones and scales?

Eventually I'm going to play a character that uses light armor, and I'm still going to plan to unlock the perks on the heavy side of the smithing tree so I can make Dragonscale armor and Daedric daggers and bows. I suppose I might avoid it if/when I start a pure mage character or something.

Forgot about weapon crafting somehow. And I didn't realize there was light dragon armor. :p

Looks like I'll continue unlocking everything in smithing then.. haha

Yep,

Dragonplate = heavy, made mostly from dragon bones
Dragonscale = light, made mostly from scales

I've played through twice now. For my final play through until DLC comes out I'm doing a pure Mage on super hard mode. I haven't used any weapons, and I'm only wearing cloth/robes. It was pretty friggin' difficult until I got a companion that could tank for me a bit. I found that Conjuration helped greatly (Especially after getting Fire Atronauch), and spells like Fury in the Illusion line were godly (Cast it in a group of Bandits and watch them tear each other apart for you!)

I played mage all the way through the first time. It was tough at first, but I found it to be really easy after I got some decent destruction spells and perks. I was primarily destruction and conjuration and would just conjure a frost atronach and then blow them away. I played on expert. I completed the main story, empire and mages guild as the main questlines. Finished the game at level 46. I thought I was pretty thorough the first time around with my character.

**minor spoilers**
On my second play through I'm a level 52 thief/assassin and I've barely touched the main story line (just gave the horn to high hrothgar). I've completed the companions questline and took winterhold for the stormcloaks. I also just got the assassin mission from the night mother. I'm probably less than halfway through the thieves guild (doing a bunch of side missions for them though). I've only been in 1 dwarven ruin and have only the winterhold house. Funny, I had no idea till last night you can take a wife...

It's crazy the different ways you can play this game and have totally different experiences. Not to mention I keep finding cool places I missed the first time.

If I do a third character, I will use a ton of mods (only using ones that visually enhance the game now) and see how that goes.

Thought the questline regarding the incident in the marketplace in Markarth was pretty good, I just wish it were longer.. :(

That's my only problem with this game. Super short questlines. Especially the mage one.
