Early Departures for 2007 NFL Draft (merged)

I would think that Calvin Johnson and Dwayne Jarrett are gone, with Johnson being a Top 5 prospect and Jarrett a top 10-15 pick.

Adrian Peterson should be gone, along with a slew of other running backs, which makes me hopefull for Pittman to stay. I'm hoping that Gonzo comes back, and I'm almost expecting Ginn to leave so if he stays it would be a very welcomed surprise.

Gonzo strikes me as too much an academic to bolt from school early. IMO Ginn still needs some polishing as a WR before he's ready to go.

(Clearly, I'm looking for excuses for them both to stay  )

Georgia Tech star receiver will pass up senior season
ATLANTA (AP) -- Georgia Tech receiver Calvin Johnson announced Monday that he will enter the NFL Draft, giving up his final college season for the chance to be one of the top players selected.

Heard this one on 1460 over the internet. This was the tightest lock of the season. Only way he wasn't going pro would have been career ending injury. He should be the first receiver off the board.

ouch, it's bad enough when you redshirt a guy and he leaves after his junior year. to only get 2 seasons out of a great player has to be painful for gamecock fans. wonder if he improved that much or it was just a bad decision by holtz to redshirt him. they could have had troy williamson and sidney rice as their starting wr's. holtz might have held onto his job a little longer.
