ouch, it's bad enough when you redshirt a guy and he leaves after his junior year. to only get 2 seasons out of a great player has to be painful for gamecock fans. wonder if he improved that much or it was just a bad decision by holtz to redshirt him. they could have had troy williamson and sidney rice as their starting wr's. holtz might have held onto his job a little longer.

Holtz retired, he wasn't fired

Louisville running back Bush to enter NFL draftBy WILL GRAVES, AP Sports Writer
January 9, 2007

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Louisville running back Michael Bush will enter the NFL draft in April rather than return to the Cardinals next season. Bush, who announced his decision on Tuesday, broke his right leg in Louisville's season-opener against Kentucky on Sept. 3 and hasn't played since. A senior, Bush applied for a medical redshirt in case he decided to come back, but opted for the NFL instead.

I said on another thread about how much Ginn opens up the field for the Gonzo and why Gonzo will struggle in the NFL at first. I think that after last nite Gonzo could easily fall to end of round 2 or even into round 3.

Also Pittman will be second round material this year or next, but there seems to be quite a few guys going early, so a big senior year next year on a team that will be run oriented could help his stock.

I still think Ginn is gone and nothing will make me change my mind on that.

Will the Juniors still enter the draft?

After last night's humiliating loss, I'm wondering if you guys think that some of the juniors will still enter the draft. Pittman, Gonzalez, and Ginn have all said they will enter the draft (Herbstreit said) but I wonder if last night lit a fire under them. Mike Doss came back for his senior season to win a championship, will these guys do the same?

And I wonder if them saying that they would leave was because they assumed they would win the NC.

ASU tight end Zach Miller will turn pro

January 9, 2007

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Arizona State tight end Zach Miller will forego his senior year and enter the NFL draft in April. Miller announced his intentions at a campus news conference on Tuesday. His departure is a blow to new head coach Dennis Erickson, hired last month to replace Dirk Koetter, who was fired.

I wouldn't think that a loss like that would bring them back (if they are leaving). I love the Buckeyes, but a NC next season is a LONG shot at best. New QB, key losses on the O and D line and in the D secondary (B Mitch and Yao).

I hope Gonzo stays, but I think that Pitt and Ginn are gone.
