Duke Blue Devils (that rat faced scumbag)

Whether his point is valid or not, it's hilarious that K suddenly has this epiphany after watching his team get their shit pushed in by Illinois

Right. Dude realizes this season isn't gonna be a good one for him, AND THEN he says publicly we might as well shut it down. Convenient timing, to say the least. Most players and coaches want to compete, so he is in the minority on this one.

It does nothing for the development of K's young athletes to shut it down. In fact, it is practically the worst thing he can do to them from that standpoint. These players could have opted out if they were worried about COVID-19. I am sure some of his guys are trying to turn pro after this season. Maybe K is trying to hamstring those kids and get them to come back another year. The whole purpose of college is to prepare for a career afterwards, so K is defeating his own most basic purpose and mission in shutting down, even if only temporarily.

Refuse to ruin the Ohio State/Iowa game thread with this thought but Bilas:pimp: and Dan Shulman :pimp:really know how to ruin a really good basketball game. I guess I can understand them pimping the UNC/Dook game but they also spent a great deal of time talking about stuff not related to the Ohio State game and talking about the individual players. The Big Ten should not give the broadcasting rights for any sporting event to that shit network and its "broadcasters".:smash:

Each to his own. I think Shulman and Bilas are the best basketball broadcast team in the business.

That's totally the script that sportsDisney makes them follow. I was completely surprised when I agreed with Bilas a couple times last night. At least the guy seems to call it like he see's it and has the personal experience to know what he's talking about, usually. Definitely love when he calls a refs mistake out on the air. Fucking refs

Freshman Jalen Johnson opts out of remainder of Duke's season to begin preparation for NBA draft

Duke freshman and projected lottery pick Jalen Johnson is opting out of the rest of the season and will declare for the NBA draft, according to the school.

Johnson, the No. 13 prospect in the ESPN 100 last season, has had an up-and-down season with the Blue Devils. He opened his career with 19 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists against Coppin State but suffered a foot injury a couple of weeks later and missed three games. After returning to the starting lineup, Johnson has come off the bench for the past three games. He played a combined 23 minutes the past two games, scoring just three points in eight minutes against NC State this past weekend.

"I appreciate everything about my time at Duke," Johnson said in a Duke news release Monday night. "Coach (Mike Krzyzewski), my teammates and the program have been nothing but supportive throughout this season, especially during the rehab of my foot injury. My family, coach and I have made the decision that I should not play the remainder of this season so I can be 100 percent healthy in preparation for the NBA Draft."

I bet that the Selection Committee bails them out. You know Coach K and the Doookie love by those asshats. Same will be true for Sparty.
I don’t think they will. If the virus wasn’t around, they probably would include them because of ticket sales/fans traveling. However, the committee doesn’t have that excuse working for them. Duke has to win the ACC final. If they get to the finals.....maybe the committee throws them a bone.
