The State in which the charge is made. Some States call it one thing, some call it another, some call it DWI...

likely doubtful. still a possibility. It doesn't sound like you think there's a real possibility of him being expelled, so what point are you try to make?
IMHO, him getting expelled is almost as likely as Mini-Me being the starting center for the U.S. Olympic Basketball Team. (but not quite)
In Ohio, even the scent of alcohol is grounds for an OVI. I learned this lesson the hard way. Thank MADD and the legislators :) (not that it shouldn't be that way to protect the public - just salty over mine considering I had reached my destanation without driving like a "drunk")generaladm;1216653; said:Unfortunately, since he's underage, any trace of alcohol in his system is grounds for a DUI.

As an OSU fan, this is a 2 on a give-a-crap-o-meter.
If I were Doug's dad, this is an eleventy-billion.
Those who conflate the two need to ask themselves just who it is they think they are. This is not to say that one cannot judge. To me, that's BS. Not judging behavior is just stupid. But to suggest this is a big deal in the grand scheme is blowing it out of proportion at best. There are many things for us to care about in the grand scheme, and OVI by a 20-something kid is sadly too common to fret about unless you want to die of a stroke before you hit 50.
Just as it relates to the team. In regards to drinking and driving, it's an 8. I'm assuming nobody was hurt in anyway or it would have been reported differently.Does your bigdealometer and ranking of a 2 pertain to how it may affect the team via suspension of a game or two or to the charge itself or both?
I'm not a coach....me yawning over this as it relates to the team isn't the same as Joe Paterno flat out lying about things on Outside the Lines. It's not a big deal to me. He'll probably miss a couple games....maybe even the USC game. But he's not Beanie or Robo or Laurinaitis.....so it's a 2 for me.Interesting. As an OSU fan, this rates a little higher than a 2 on my give-a-crap-meter mainly because as an upperclassman, I would expect a little more from him in the leadership area than this. I would expect more from him, having been in the JT system for 2 full years, in the ways of understanding the team/family concept.
As an OSU fan, this may rate no higher than a 4 for me on the give-a-crap-meter. Ultimately though, the only give-a-crap-meter that matters is the one JT has and I would speculate that it may rate a little higher on his.
While I agree that blowing it out of proportion is not necessary, at the same time downplaying it is just as bad, if not more so. We aren't...Penn State.
