DT Doug Worthington (Official Thread)

Michigan had a DT who was 6'7" a couple of years ago. Checked and it was Patrick Massey, who was actually listed at 6'8" 262 lbs. his senior year and I'm almost positive he played tackle that year (2003).

That's not how they list it on the official site.
9 games for Massey in 2003 - all of them from the Defensive End position, 2004 saw him spell for one game at DT, the rest of the time he spent at DE.
It was in 2005 that Pat Massey played DT mostly, for nine games.

And before anybody jumps my case about being negative - remember last year when everyone was so excited about Laurinaitis because he got the late season start as a Frosh? I was the one who said temper your enthusiasm because he hadn't really proven anything either.

Here's hoping I continue my streak.

Well in that case, can you please tell us our o-line is poor? Oh, and that Hartline and Robiskie couldn't catch a cold. Thanks!

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Doug Worthington had something important to show his grandmother, and he was running out of time.
The Ohio State defensive tackle had planned to accompany teammate Maurice Wells to Wells' hometown of Jacksonville, Fla., during spring break a few months ago.

After reading this article, I have a new found respect for Maurice Wells.
yep. we certainly have more to be proud about of our buckeyes than just their play on the field. i think we'll continue to find that tressel finds quality people and not only quality players.

And people laughed at me when I said he would end up at DT!
Which you keep reminding us about :sleep2: Actually, you told us he didn't have the step for DE, before he even arrived on campus, so he'd have to slide down. If Maupin & Cotton had not fizzled out, Doug may have stayed outside.

I believe Heacock talked about moving Rose & Worthington around on the line for passing downs... so perhaps he does 'have the step for DE'
