would have loved to see him try to pull and down field block on a reverse for Ted Ginn back in the day

be worse than when he smoked by datish in the fiesta bowl against ND

Check the film - Datish actually crossed the goal line first on that play. :wink2:

Since getting on campus, Chris has received praise for how light he is on his feet for carrying that kind of weight. No doubt the S&C staff will try to redistribute things a little bit but I think it is a little early to say he cannot be counted on. Who was really counting on him to be on the field this season anyways? OSU has a great starting 5 across the front and a total of 7-8 OL that will hopefully be enough to last the team the entire season.

I would really love to see this kid at DT. He does move very well for his size but he has the natural look of a big DT. Im not overly concerned with his weight right now. Once he's in the system for a year or two, he could make an All-B1G type of DT if he molds his body right and carries 6'6"/360 the right way.

He looks to have good footwork. If he busts his buckeyes, he could become a Warren Sapp type of player. I just hope he applies himself because OSU did take a risk on Carter, it would be nice to see him return the favor.

Sapp was one of the quickest 300 pounders to ever play the game. I don't think CC is that type of player.

I think you can put a "I don't think ______ is a Warren Sapp type of player" and fill in the blank with pretty much anyone.

Sapp was unique.

Lets not forget, sapp came to Miami as a TE/LB and converted to DL. I'm sure Carter has always been on the line

Seems to be carrying his weight very well......

Tough to tell from that pic but like you said he seems to carry it well. Doesn't have an enormous gut on him (baggy shirt though...). Reports are that he's at 370lbs and that he said some of that is him putting on weight from really hitting the weights this summer. He says he wants to get down to 360lbs because that is a comfortable playing weight for him.

Carter, in that picture, surprisedly looks like can affectively play at that weight. He is 6'6" and he obviously has a wide framed body from shoulder to shoulder. After seeing what he looks like right now, I'm not concerned at all about his weight. I would still love to see him at DT but I'm sure wherever he plays he will be very effective. That's a big 18 year old!

I'd still rather see him in the 320 range-for his own good as Jax stated. I'm guessing that he'll steadily change his body type as he matures and gets more into his lifting regimen. I'm a 6'1'' version of that body, I went through the same thing-except Allegheny and Chowan were my only two "offers".
