DL Chris Carter, Jr. (Official Thread)

Weighs 390 now according to Fickell.
Did he not work out this summer?

Really disappointing.
OSU stuck their neck out after his issues and he reponds by getting even fatter, instead of taking it as a come to Jesus moment.

Tell me again why we offered him early and yet can't offer others because we need them in camp and then need to see films.
Or why Decekr wasn't even worth the time to send a form letter to and invite up for a meaningless hoops game.
I know "Trust the coaches" or "we have been great since he has been here". That has little bearing on the future and I think Bollman will haunt the future with his lack of interest in recruiting.

I cannot wait for Bollmans tenure to end after this year, which it will even if Fickell is retained.

Bottom line: We cannot count on Carter at this point.

You do know that Bollman's recruiting isn't restricted to just olineman. Bollman's recruiting has been instrumental in players that are not olineman coming to Ohio State.

Whooo fat jokes. Clever.

There's nothing necessarily wrong with being 390lbs in itself. But this ain't a video game. I'd assume he's a step slow and out of shape at that weight. Even the biggest of the bigs need to be around 330-350 to have enough endurance to get through the game.

No doubt the kid's had a tough year so far. It would have been better had he came in roaring to go, but a RS and a kick in the butt will help get him in shape. It's a shame, because a healthy Chris Carter Jr could have helped out out on the line.

I don't know all the rules about contacting committed players, but I assume someone should have stayed on top of this.

I think you lose the ability to measure correctly at some point but no one will ever convince me Adrian Clarke wasn't a ho-ho away from the 400ish club himself.

If he can move it then no worries from a playing standpoint. I'd be more concerned with the kids long term health. That's awfully big and he's awfully young.
