Re: Whats next Reply
The Second Mile is off free and clear - as are the state agencies that had the responsibility of monitoring Sandusky as a chief employee of the Second Mile.
These people were the primary reporters because they ALONE had direct responsibility for Sandusky for 11+ years. And yet, in all the trial summaries, all the news stories, the the "Sports" stories that are in the public's eye, NO ONE OTHER THAN PSU was even mentioned as having any responsibility - legal, moral or otherwise - in controlling JS ..
Assitionally, the 1998 handling of a police "sting" operation and the lack of legal prosecution NEVER WAS MENTIONED AS EVEN A POSSIBLE INFLUENCE on the way things were handled by PSU in the 2011(2002),
I'm sorry, but it would take me 40+ pages to go over all the tell-tail signs that expose this case for what it REALLY IS - an engineered political assassination, targeted at Penn State FOOTBALL and its "icon" coach - Joe Paterno.
This all being said, the damage is done and you can now only sit back and marvel how every new and on-going "investigation" will goose step into line and continue to ONLY focus on PSU (and more specifically Penn State FOOTBALL - or as is now becoming popular "the Football Culture at Penn State").
And yet, the others who had greater responsibilities and greater opportunity for removing Sandusky from being a threat to the public are getting off without a whisper. Get use to it...its the new definition of American Justice - your rights as a citizen are only as good as the size of your political contributions.

I'm totally with you on this!
I see this whole situation as an opportunity to bring down PSU football and Joe Paterno in particular. But why? Was Joe against Corbett? Did he cause problems for someone in Harrisburg? Hell he took pressure off them to fund many non-athletic programs over the years not to mention his efforts to promote THON. Am I to assume Corbett was jealous?
Going forward I find it hard not to think the NCAA and/or The Big Ten conference will bring serious charges against the program including dismissal from the conference and potentially the death penalty. It is clearly beyond their jurisdication under current NCAA rules but the pressure on them nationally to do something will be enormous and their reputation is already on thin ice.
Another concern is the potential protests, demonstrations, boycotts, etc. our student athletes may face as they travel to other locations. The University may be forced to shut down the program for an extended period to let this cool down even if the NCAA does not bring charges. Yes it will crush the local economy and applications will drop but absent some consequence it will never go away.
In the end I am most disappointed in the leadership of this University. Why are they not doing more to defend the tremendous good that PSU brings to the world? Where is the positive message about how this tragic situation will be the motivation for on-going awarenous in exposing child motestation around the world. Where is the statement touting the good THON has done? Why do they sit there making just whimppy statements that act as if nothing good happens at PSU? Just makes me sick.
Yes I pray for the victims and hope this verdict can give them just a little peace that justice was served but saying everything is PSU's fault is truly a misread of what transpired over the past two decades when clearly other agencies with more direct responsibilities dropped the ball.
God Bless
