Outstanding question, since we're all facing death by starvation, overexposure to heat or cold, a host of animal predators or a large number of basic viruses and diseases.DubCoffman62;1959616; said:Another question for the paleo dieters, what was the average lifespan of a caveman?
I definitely felt the fatigue, but I felt like my stomach was no longer running the show. This is day 4 on my no bread,rice,pasta/grain/sugar diet. I was 176 this morning. I felt a bit fatigued last night, more than I should being as I haven't been able to get out and do my cardio the last two days, I will tonight though for sure. Although the scale doesn't reflect it I do feel I've lost the bloated feeling I'd been feeling the previous few days before I started this.
How about just eat a good breakfast beforehand and take plenty of fruit and nuts with you out on the shoots?jwinslow;1959625; said:Outstanding question, since we're all facing death by starvation, overexposure to heat or cold, a host of animal predators or a large number of basic viruses and diseases.
Google claims it was 16 years. I'm going to go out on a limb and give the food a pass, particularly with how badly kids can eat without many short term consequences.

My biggest struggle so far has been packing a lunch without a fridge near by. As a photographer, 4-7 hour shoots are that uncommon in the fall.
I can always go out for a fairly paleo meal, but that gets expensive and tricky.
I might have to go that route, with some homemade jerky as well. Still pretty new to the scene.DubCoffman62;1959633; said:How about just eat a good breakfast beforehand and take plenty of fruit and nuts with you out on the shoots?
I was going to edit and add jerky but you beat me to it. I'm out and about quite a bit in the afternoon and I always have a bag of almonds or cashews plus some jerky in my truck and I've been doing this long before this week long experiment. Over the years I've changed my attitude towards eating, although I do enjoy nice flavors and I do splurge on stuff I really like from time to time, I try to think of eating as something I do to feed my body, not please my tongue. I drink a bottle of cold pressed green veggie juice everyday. Some of my friends say 'eww, how can you drink that?' and too be honest, it doesn't taste that great, kind of like sludgey dirty water. But it sure is good for you.jwinslow;1959635; said:I might have to go that route, with some homemade jerky as well. Still pretty new to the scene.

One more thing I was going to add is how when you start a training regiment, the first 4 or 5 weeks you do get stronger be you don't see much change in the mirror. The last two weeks though has been incredible. You can almost see yourself getting bigger and bigger after every work out. To be honest I wasn't expecting this much so quickly.

I pretty much control what me and the wife eat. I would say I make 90% of the food we eat from fresh ingredients. Cheese is part of the diet, and rarely some cured meat like jerky or ham or coldcuts, but for the most part, I make it. I never use salt, or at least, very rarely. If you watch shows like Jamie Oliver or Tyler Florence, they use in a sauce the amount of salt I use in a week.
But I'm wondering if I'm not short-changing us on salt. I drink a LOT of water a day, probably a gallon or more, plus coffee in the AM. Am I getting enough salt, do you think? Or should I use more in my food?
