Diet-Fitness-General Wellness Your Thoughts?

Blue Mountain is vastly overrated in my opinion. Of course, with everything, drink what you like. Nobody else's taste should influence what you like.

Having said that, my favorite coffees come from Indonesia. You can get a really good, dark roast on the bean and it comes out with great flavor and low acid. I battle acid reflux and "sour stomach" all the time, so the less acidity in my coffee the better - but I like harsh, dark coffees. If anyone is familiar with Peet's, a chain on the West Coast, that's the kind of coffee I like.

I pretty much exclusively drink Starbucks because they are the only place in Lincoln I've found that consistently roasts the bean all the way through. I cannot stand that sour, pea-like flavor you get from a partially roasted bean, and too often my local coffee joints serve that crap to me. I would love to support local more, but not when it tastes like ass.

Of all the Starbucks coffees, the one I like most is Komodo Dragon. It's an Indonesian bean, holds a strong, dark flavor, and is very low in acid. I dig Kenyan from time to time, but although African coffees have a great dark flavor, the acidity is WAY high. Kills me.

Same here,and sometimes ridiculously bad. Stuff like prilosec doesn't hit the spot either. There's sometimes that I feel like I have a sharp knife inside my organs. Extreme heat doesn't help either. Feel free to share more low acid coffees if you know of them. I dance around a lot of different types of coffee,and they are hit and miss as far as the stomach jerker goes.

Do you put cream in your coffee? The fat in cream is a base, countering the coffee's acid, so that helps. I just don't like much cream in my coffee - I prefer it black. But if they're serving up Kenyan or a French or Espresso roast, I have to put cream in there or it's bad.

Sumatra is another low-acid coffee, also coming from Indonesia, and also holding a good, strong flavor.

Nescafe=No es cafe.

Bustelo or El Aguila are pretty decent. And, like I said, at $1.50 a pound, it's pretty hard to beat. Also, I keep two ice cube trays filled with "coffee cubes" in case I want iced coffee, but don't want it to water down.

I used to turn my nose up to nescafe but everytime I go to a Mexican friend's house they always have nescafe. Pretty soon I was drinking it too. I've seen Bustelo in the sores, I'll have to give it a try.

My host family tried to pawn that shit off to me as "coffee" way back when. I grew to enjoy it, it was like a coffee-flavored Ovaltine. It's pretty sad when you can't even get real coffee in Ecuador, it's right next to Colombia...

Enjoy the bustelo. It's pretty solid stuff. Hope you like strong coffee, though.

I do, it's the only way I drink it, no cream nor sugar. I'm another one of the acid reflux sufferers though so coffee must be enjoyed very prudently.

Well... I just thought I would share my latest "fun" story with all of you today. As brought up before, I bought a bike last Thursday. Long story short, I rode to/from work yesterday and today. This morning I went the same route, but attempted to be a little bit more carefree. I tried to bunny hop some train tracks (in the pavement) that were crossing the road at a 45 degree angle. My first wheel cleared, my second didn't. First biking accident in over a decade. Not all that tore up, but my right heel and inside of my foot hurts a good amount. Go me!!!

Hope you were wearing a helmet!

Well if I'm going to try it I want to do it right. One more thing, did caveman cook his meat or eat it raw? How did they work it with chicken? I ask because I'm not exactly sure in which time of caveman history they discovered fire. One more thing, did they eat cured meats like bacon and ham? I'm not sure I could give those up.

They ate lots of cock like Mili.
