Defensive Staff Next Year?

Anytime you get rid of us born in the 50s it’s an upgrade. Our brains are full of useless information(knowledge) before the technology age. Kind of like knowing how to harness and use a team of horses when everyone including your sons switched to farming with tractors. Lol. #outdated

I think someone mentioned in another thread that OSU had two paths to choose between : going the path of schools in the south and doing what it takes to create a successful football program, or choose to be a regional power and be content with conference titles. I think we know what choice has been made…

“I certainly considered (just making small tweaks) and considered a lot of things and thought long and hard on it and it weighed heavy on me, but I felt like a fresh start was the right thing to do,” Day said Monday in his first press conference of the offseason. “I felt like that’s kind of what we had been doing the last couple of years is tweaking it and bringing a guy in and moving a piece over here, and I really wanted to start fresh and have a system in place, so that when something goes wrong, there’s an answer to the system and everybody believes in the system and I just felt like at the time, that was the right thing to do.”

You watched, arguably, one of the worst defenses ever fielded at Ohio State be repeatedly and savagely humiliated with the money shot being an L in The Game right in your fucking eye and you had to think about it?

I'm going to chalk that comment up to being civil to the dearly departed but it's a little scary. Not going to lie.

I feel you but I do think it is a bit more subdued than he might say otherwise. I'd say cutting Coombs loose was an emotional trial where the other's weren't really. They're gone so he has no reason to beat the dead horse. Beat the live one if they fuck up though there's no room for even mediocre now. Dudes better be the real deal starting this Spring.

I realize your role here is to express the most concern for Day and his decision making but perhaps you missed his comment “I really wanted to start fresh”

I didn’t hear any bit of softness from Day and we certainly didn’t see it from his actions.
