Defensive Staff Next Year?

I'm riding with Barnes. I think Al Washington moves on. Not sure why I feel that way, but I do. If he does, bring in Mike Tressel as a Co-DC and LB coach. Let him help Barnes prepare the game plan but Barnes has proven to be a very good play caller and will only get better.
If Washington/Coombs move on I'd think we'd go after Marcus Freeman to be the DC and coach LBs. Not sure who we would bring in for the secondary.

As of now it's gotta be Barnes. He's taken a young, struggling squad and put together a solid or better defense with good gameplans and it will only get better with experience and cohesion. Keep Coombs if you can for CB development and recruiting. Not sure about Washington. He hasn't made me think he's absolutely necessary but I like keeping a staff intact as much as possible.

Doubt Freeman is ever DC here unfortunately. Lateral move unless his dream was DC for OSU, he'd only come if he's the sole DC, and he's among the hottest names for HC with a lot of big openings.

Posters are going to say “really, during a title run?” Quite frankly I don’t see it as a “NC run” but ultimately this team probably gets blown off the field by UGA or Alabama and quite frankly I’m not sure why w assume this team just wiped the floor with Oregon in a rematch.

This is interesting. The lack of a base running game against tough opponents makes me nervous, but other than Georgia (who, imo, still needs to prove it against a better than average team) I don't think this team gets blown out by anyone.

Lateral move? OSU is a big step up.

Wow, I see our fanbase is going to beat this Marcus Freeman story to absolute death. Going to ND, I don't see Freeman ever coming to OSU as a DC! He's already a DC at a comparable school. And for all of the eople who claim Fickell isn't leaving UC because of family being so big, Freeman has just as many kids as Fickell!
And if we're going to continue this tired story line let's bring up the other one too. Replace Coombs with Corey Raymond :roll1:
Oh and Elias Rick's is going to transfer to OSU as well:roll2:
That about sums up every yearly OSU coaching hire and transfer
