Defensive Staff Next Year?

He's 61. Not to be "age-ist", but personally I have a preference towards younger coaches. I'm not sure Patterson would move the needle much in recruting. We need a young, ambitious, energetic guy that can not just install an effective scheme and coach, but recruit.
I’m gonna be honest… I want young and Africa American coaches to be hired…

hell hire Patterson as an analyst…

I dont care what their heritage is, just be good enough to come in and shake shit up. I want the Silver Bullets back immediately.

I've regretted not getting into coaching for 20 years now because I didnt want to be a teacher in a classroom. Watching some of these troglodytes go through the motions is freaking maddening.

I always thought if I had a son, I'd teach him to be a southpaw pitcher. Now, I've realized football coach is the way to go. You have guys that probably can't even tie their shoes making millions of dollars. It's nuts.

Heintz completed the drills on his own and passed out afterward while stretching, at which point the paramedics were called.

Jordan McNair was struggling, stepped out of the drills, was forced back in the drills and when he couldn't complete them, the strength coach told other players to drag him through the rest of the drill. It was like 40 minutes after McNair's issues before anyone called an ambulance. Comparing the two is ridiculous.
Frame it how you want. Players died while BOTH were HCs. We can bring up a list of every single kid in college HS, NFL who has died while practicing or playing in games. And I can bet you that a number of those coaches are still coaching. That is my point. You can use whatever semantic you want if that makes you feel better. But coaches have done messed up things, and winning has still kept them in the business. That's fine, we don't have to go after Durkin
Not sure if he has been brought up….but the LSU DBs coach is a guy I’d love to bring into the fold.
Ain't happening. We have as much chance at him as Leonard at Wisky

proven DC. runs the single high that Day wants. young. OSU great.

not sure why that was so difficult to grasp..?

Are we sure he’s “proven” though?

Notre Dame’s stats are pretty much identical to last year. And Cincinnati’s are pretty much identical to last year as well.

Can he turnaround a bad defense?

Freeman also was the primary architect of the Cincy defense, which oh by the way, is top four in the country (as a team). Sounds like he's also quite the recruiter, both at Cincy and now at the Domers. Kinda like a younger Coombs? Day's gonna be in the microscope this off season, and here's hoping he gets things right. PS, believe Day is the right person for tOSU. Go Bucks!

I see no realistic scenario Freeman ends up here.

He would have to not get the ND job.
Or any other HC job.
Fickell would have to turn down ND, if he took the job and Marcus didn't get the UC gig he would work under Luke who is literally his best friend.
And then there is the tidbit from Austin Ward that Day and Marcus have some sort of beef.
