Defensive Staff Next Year?

With PSU DC opening up, I'm really interested in what the changes here at OSU look like. Outside of 2019, PSU defense has consistently been better than OSU from 2017-present, and is the biggest reason IMO why those games are so tight. If we can get the better hire here, we can continue gaining separation over the #2 B1G team over the last 5-6 years.

Not the player I was referring to, the player I'm talking about is Tyler Heintz. Who indeed died while practicing:

And Paul Haynes has still been coaching(MSU and Minny)...

Heintz completed the drills on his own and passed out afterward while stretching, at which point the paramedics were called.

Jordan McNair was struggling, stepped out of the drills, was forced back in the drills and when he couldn't complete them, the strength coach told other players to drag him through the rest of the drill. It was like 40 minutes after McNair's issues before anyone called an ambulance. Comparing the two is ridiculous.

I would be good with Chris Ash. He did a good job. He at least wouldn't lose games for us.
Nah… Can’t go home again … Combs did it granted it was over his head and it ddin’t work out… Tavers Johnson did and that was a shit show… not in favor of Ash or another former OSU coach coming back…

one name i’d like to see us go after is Mike Elko was at ND and now at Aggy…

But he was an actual DC, not a position coach who became a DC. Ash did a great job as DC with the Bucks.

As somebody eloquently stated earlier I'd rather take a flyer on the rotting corpse of Buddy Ryan.

At least we have been spared the suggestions of former buckeye legends who have never coached - "What about Andy Katzenmoyer!!111".

I'm down for Katzenmoyer provided he can be a player-coach.

For the people who have brought up Derrick Mason at Auburn, what's the difference in his resume from Chris Ash? Both failed HCs at lower tier schools in major conferences, but excelled as coordinators.

Also why so much hate for DJ Durkin if he can get the job done? OSU hired a coach who mistreated injured players while IU, what is the difference?
Durkin's issues resulted in a kids death while there is quite a bit of speculation about much "mistreatment" actually took place at IU. The majority of the Hoosier team called B.S. and came out in support of Wilson.

One cool aspect to potentially getting Chris Ash would be the the “sign-off” from Urban.

Guy still loves OSU and wants what is best. If Ash is back (have no idea if that’s even a possibility) you know it’s with the recommendation and blessing of Meyer.

Hawk was the same way. His performance against Texas in '05 was one of the best performances I've seen from a linebacker.
Loved him that year. Saw Spielman wreck Iowa in '85 which became my measuring stick for Buckeye LBs. Couple interceptions and about 20 tackles or so. Yeah we've had a few over the years haven't we.
