the more I find my ire being directed at McQuery. He was the ONLY witness on the planet to any of the incidents with Sandusky. Joe Paterno sure as hell wasn't, and what Joe was told by McQuery was vague and incomplete at best compared to what McQuery magically remembers so much better 10 years later. I know Joe is the big name in this and that's obviously why all of these pathetic media and fans are piling on him, but taking a step back anyone with firing synapses would see the absurdity in placing, almost in its entirety, the blame for an incident on someone who was not even a witness to it. It doesn't matter to me all of the psychological mumbo jumbo about McQuery witnessing the incident, the trauma, etc, etc. What matters to me is that had he not failed to be a man, to be a human being, and 10 years report what he so fervently believes he saw to the police is proving to be the spark that is destroying Joe Paterno's legacy. I'm not going to claim that I would have vaulted into the shower and beat the crap out of Sandusky, but I can guarantee that if I ever find myself in the horrible situation of seeing what I believe is a man raping a child, I sure as hell would call the police. He didn't, and it's Paterno who is now paying the price for McQuery's inaction.
Joe Paterno witnessed nothing, was told a vague and incomplete account of what was witnessed, did the same thing McQuery did in reporting it to his superior, and yet Paterno is being vilified in a way that I don't ever recall seeing in history. As an extreme comparison, I'm certain that Franklin Roosevelt wished in hindsight that he had done more to stop Hitler, but I've never once seen Roosevelt blamed for the atrocities Hitler committed.
Joe Paterno was a GREAT man who in hindsight wishes he had done more. That is NOT an admission of guilt, it's an admission of being a human being.

Parents, teachers, principals, charity workers, CWS and yes... even some of the victims are high on my blame list.

Anything new in this department? Coach is anxious to know where it stands.
And Joe, you are getting worse. A lot worse."You either get better or you get worse. You never stay the same."-- Joe Paterno

As a side note, you can get a Pedobear costume for $80....it might be time to invest in one before Bucky Katt drives me to (and abandons me in) Inbred Slappy Valley
1. This is a 7 day trial membership thatI will let expire because I can't imagine actually paying to read some of this drivel.2. I enjoyed my time at Penn State. Had a great time with the students and I think most of my colleagues would tell you I did a good job -- even after my wife was screwed over by the Penn State leadership.
3. Am I bitter about what happened to my wife? Yes. Am I obsessed w/ it? No. But more than ANY of YOU who post stuff on this site, I know what happened. She tried to do her job; tried to apply the Student Code of Conduct even-handedly. There was no prejudgment as to outcomes regarding the disciplinary process being applied to football players. Joe and Spanier and Curley interfered with that process, evidencing disrespect for the rule of law in favor of the rule of a despot.
4. Vicky is a change agent and a leader; leaders, as one would think SOME of you know, make tough decisions sometimes. That makes for a very easy target for those who don't like change of any kind. The crap about how she was power hungry, etc. is just that -- crap. Yes, some of the "status quo" types were upset. And when that "status quo" gets displaced by a MORE -- yes MORE -- democratic (small "d") process they got angry and started circulating a bunch of trash about her on websites. And 99+% of it is just plain libelous.BTW -- not ONE of those people (to the extent we know who they are -- see below) EVER spoke w/ her about any of the stuff they pass off as gospel. Do ya' think a civil conversation would hurt? "Oh, hell, why bother when we can go on the web and trash her professional standing and her person?"
5. To date, the evidence points the finger squarely at Spanier, Schultz, Curley -- and yes, Joe. That's my view based on the facts I see. Ya'll are entitled to your own opinions -- but not your own facts. They are what they are, even if you don't like them. And the facts also support a pattern and practice of meddlesomeness in places where the football program should not have intruded.
6. I don't "hate" much of anybody or anything, but I sure do see a lot of it on this board. Are you all projecting?
7. When I say I know what happened to my wife, I absolutely do. And I know Joe played a role in it. Furthermore, I know his Mr. Fix-It -- Guido -- played a part in it on Joe's behalf. So if I am skeptical that a statement allegedly from Joe before he died actually came from him. It's because I know the kinds of games those guys play.
8. There is way too much more on this site to answer piece by piece. You guys just invent stuff that goes beyond the pale. Vicky was NOT "fired for cause." That is a lie. She resigned. Was it pleasant? No. But she was not fired for cause.
9. One final thought. The things I have said, I have said in my own name. I am indeed responsible for them.
Why the hell are all of you too cowardly to do the same? If you think you know the truth, then speak up -- in your own name and be responsible for the consequences. You can call me all the names you want; but at the end of the day, unless you are man enough to own it, it's nothing more than simple hatred expressed under the cloak of anonymity which means it is nothing more than "delusional flotsam." (Which for those of you who may not know, refers to debris from a sinking ship).
