Here is a man who broke his hip on the 12th of December and died of lung cancer on the 21st of January. Yet, despite the chemo and the pain meds he was able to collect his thoughts and in late December and early January express them so eloquently. This man who could not even send a simple email was able to figure out the complexities of MS Word and save his document for posterity and to do so without a single grammatical error or missed punctuation.
Then he had the foresight to ask that his family not release it immediately after his death. Nor at the beginning or the the close of the Sandusky trial. But on the eve of a report that is anticipated to be damning to his beloved university.
It is only unfortunate that he passed before adding one final paragraph. The one where he was going to acknowledge that not only was the reputation of Penn State going to suffer - but that harm had come to children.
No shenanigans here.
(How unfortunate that this same man could not write a one sentence note to the police over a decade ago.)

Woody Hayes was a great man. Flawed, but a tremendous person, coach, and mentor to many, many young men. He's a hero of mine. That said, if the Ohio State University's entire identity was wrapped up in his legacy, I'd be fucking ashamed.VBSJ;2177069; said:Considering the huge defense being put forth, with Jay Paterno appearing on the TODAY Show Thursday, it's somewhat obvious whatever's being released is not flattering to Joe Paterno.
You have the son(s) going on national TV, an attorney son "ghostwriting" a letter for his deceased father, and a family spokesperson questioning leaks.
This seems like the Manson Family defending Charles.
Even if PSU wants to take down the statue, it seems like the Paterno kids would guard it w/ shotguns.

I think I have a valentine card I've been waiting to give a girl from 1995.

I doubt he wrote the letter....because as has been asked several times, why would they sit on it until now....but don't buy their bullshit about him not knowing how to use a computer now just because it fits our narrative. He knew how to use a computer to type letters and emails.Bingo. We're supposed to believe that an old man who didn't know how to use a computer somehow drafted a Word document extolling his legacy, and that letter was miraculously found on the eve of the release of a damning report that could tear down that legacy? Even the most brain-dead mouth-breathers on BWI and Black Shoe Diaries should have a problem believing that one.

They concluded Paterno's firing was warranted? Holy shit. I can't wait to see what they conclude with regards to the wetness of water.

Uh Oh! It's about to get seriously ugly in Un-Happy Valley!.

Turns out the BOT has exhausted their crucification of Paterno since he's passed away and the Freeh investigation is complete and nobody is gullible enough to think it was independent. Now the BOT has little option but to start blaming the alumni. So it's actually your fault jerk. Why didn't you stop Sandusky?
