Gibson in a rush to play for Bucks

Columbus -- The last time Ohio State went on the road, to Purdue three weeks ago, freshman defensive end Thaddeus Gibson stayed back in Columbus as punishment for arguing with a coach during practice.
When the Buckeyes take the field at Penn State on Saturday, the Euclid grad will be there. He's clearly out of the doghouse, and defensive coordinator Jim Heacock said Wednesday he expects to use Gibson more as a pass rusher in the season's final four games.
"I think he was pressing," Heacock said. "Everybody thinks they should be playing more as young guys, just like I did. But I don't think that's all bad. I like a guy that wants to play.

I was watching Thad from the stands today when he was lined up at DE, and mid 4th quarter, he was beating the RT he was matched up against play after play. Unluckily for him, every time he got around him, the tackle would grab him from behind or from the side. Definetly got some good pressure on Donovan and helped put our offense back on the field.

I love seeing the coaching staff find ways of getting these players on the field, because this fella needs to see it more often. Keep your head up Thad! Your sacks are on the way!!

He absolutely abused that right tackle when he laid out Donovan to cause that turnover. A little Reggie White stiff arm and then the swim move to get over the top, to a straight path into the backfield to crush Donovan. He's definately getting the Jack Tatum "hit of the week" award from the coaches this week. I love when young guys step up and produce when the regulars are out.
