DE/LB Thaddeus Gibson (official thread)

Partially blocked a punt, make a tackle (at least one, if not more) on the KO coverage team, and played well at linebacker. I was very happy with what I saw...

Gibson had several tackles, and played very well on both special teams and at linebacker, but it was Moeller that blocked the punt.

I have thought that very same thing since I saw the replay yesterday, but I couldn't look it up again to see a jersey number. I was sure Gibson didn't get the block....

I know there has been talk in the past about moving him down to a speed rushing DE. With the injury to Wilson and our abundence of LBs, I think this would be a great time to give it a try. Maybe not a perminant move, but a way to get a playmaker like Thad on the field more and help fill a hole in depth chart.

Pretty sure he shouldve got credit for a late sack.. that I think Spitler stole from him..

I believe that was Robert Rose who was chasing YSU's backup QB (Williams?) where the QB spun away and Spitler fell on him. Could be wrong.

Not specifically relevant to the previous posts, but thinking about Gibson being a defensive end, anybody else think he could potentially be a Kamerion Wimbley/Demarcus Ware type player? I remember watching a highlight of him in higschool and how explosive he was off the edge.

Looked like it was Gibson (that's who the announcers credited it to and it did look like Gibson on the replay). I'll rewatch the game tonight and verify...

I may have been thinking it was the play where he blitzed off the edge and nailed the RB for a loss of three... It was late in the 4th quarter.. As you guys said Rose was the guy who harrassed the Qb and then SPitler cleaned up..

But Im pretty sure Thad had what should have been a sack.. cause i recall thinking he wasnt gonna get credit for it despite being the one most responsible.. Similar to the Spring Game when he did everything but sack the Qb, but Garnier got credit by cleaning the play up

Either Gibson or Moeller/Schwartz (replay angle showed Gibson from one side and a white guy with a number starting with "2" from the other, both having their hand near the ball when it was blocked).

EDIT: If it was number 24, it was walk-on Marcus Wiiliams, not Grant Schwartz...

it was Moeller. Just watched the buckeye show on Fox and was waiting for the big ten network to cut it off . lol I still have poor man's Time warner. Tressel gave it to Moeller and dang can't believe how accurate Boeckman look throwing and how well the o-line looked in pass blocking.
