DE/LB Nathan Williams (official thread)

My first reaction was one of nauseousness. Nathan is jeopardizing an incredibly bright future over T shirts and an idiot friend--I just felt bad for the guy, regardless of how bad his decision making skills are.

But then I checked ESPN and saw that this already made headlines. Now it is nauseousness plus anger for The Ohio State nation being dragged into this.

He needs to learn that his actions don't only reflect on him at this point. He is part of something much bigger and broader than himself. He represents Ohio State, he represents Columbus, he represents the entire state of Ohio, and he represents the pride of Buckeye nation all around the country.

Nathan took a big one for his supposed "parolee" friend, but Buckeye nation is taking a big one for Nathan.
UC would disagree..

OSU freshman made bad trade: Shirts for Phoenix

It's Nutcracker weekend at our house. That means the little ones are prancing around on stage and I'm watching them, discreetly munching on cashews to keep with the theme. Missed the Heisman Trophy presentation, which came on about the time the Sugar Plum Fairy was doing her thing. Ballet over football. The things dance dads do for their kids ...
Bad Buckeye: I did some research on the three shirts Ohio State football player Nathan Williams allegedly shoplifted last week from Macy's at Fairfield Commons. The brand name of these garments is Ecko, and I'm told the kids love them as much as snow days and keggers.
Really, they're ugly T-shirts with a bunch of scribbling on them. If you're going to miss out on a trip to Phoenix in January, make it over something nicer, perhaps a Corvette.
As part of his punishment, Williams should have to go to Macy's and write an apology letter to Santa, promising to never again wear trendy shirts that feature gang graffiti.

FAIRBORN ? Ohio State defensive end Nathan Williams pleaded not guilty to charges he stole shirts from an area mall.
Williams was in a Fairborn Municipal courtroom Tuesday, Dec. 16.
The 19-year-old freshman was arrested on Dec. 10 for shoplifting three shirts valued at $80 from the Macy's department store at Fairfield Commons, according to Beavercreek police.
Williams told police he was with a friend when an alarm went off as they left store. Williams said his friend told him he had stolen three shirts and Williams agreed to take the blame.

Who is the friend and why hasn't he been arrested yet?

You can't arrest someone on accusation. They have to have probable cause and unless the friend is seen on camera taking them or admits to police he did it, he's pretty much in the clear. There's a time in life when you learn who your real friends are and now seems to be Nathans time.
