If was Wilson I sure as hell would want to play in the NC game, Now JT may not let him for one reason or another and he won't be in football shape but I bet he would love to be in it.

Agreed. If it were me, it would be hard to keep me from trying to finish something that I started last January 9th.

Very well put Best. If by chance we happen to win out and make to the Championship Game and Lawrence feels he's ready to contribute then I think it would be a huge mistake on the Coaches part if they didn't allow it. Lawrence at 75% is better than 90% of the players in the country at his position, so he's not going to embarrass himself by any means. Plus, isn't what these kids do supposed to be about the "experience" anyway? Playing in the Championship Game would be the ultimate experience, and one I hope he get's to enjoy. Peace.

Lawrence should be 100% should we play in the NC game. Nothing is garaunteed and so if I was him, and I was healthy, I would definitely want another shot at the trophy. Those opportunities don't come around too often in a 4-5 year college career.

Several people have said that if they were in LW's shoes that they'd want to play in the NC game. Good point and I agree with it.

But what if you were in JT's shoes? Obviously, priority one is that he is 100% cleared by the medical staff. Priorities two and three, in no particular order, are that LW is back to game speed and that he wants to play (already covered). Your choices are:
  • Have him for a chance at the Crystal Football
  • Have a chance at having him in 2009
Even if he increases the chance of winning it all by 0.0001% (I think it's much higher), I think the choice is the crystal football. I also think the sky is blue.

I think whether or not he plays this year is also affected by the health of other players. Rob Rose didn't dress for the Wisconsin game, if Rose can get healthy and we have a solid rotation of Gholston, Rose, Barrow, and Heyward than the chances are pretty slim that Wilson will get back on the field this year in my opinion.

Lawrence has said the last couple of home games (when asked how he's feeling, and if he'll play again this season) that the "plan" (I can only assume he means his, coaches, and medical staff's) has been for him to return in time to play in the Bowl Game / National Championship game.

Even with a healthy Robert Rose, I wouldn't say DE is a particularly deep position on this team. So if he is cleared to play, I bet JT uses him in any Bowl Game, especially for a NC.

here's to hoping LW is ready to go for the NC game. If he is able to play, it gives us a lot of versatility at DT b/c Heyward can play play inside. I think the use you get out out of him for 1 game is worth it because the liklihood of him sticking around for a 5th year medical redshirt year are slim to none IMO (assuming he comes back healthy next year).

Good luck Lawrence, and hopefully you're out there eating Matt Flynns' lunch January 7th.

Lawrence has got to be excited about getting back. You just know after last year's NCG, that if he can go...he's gonna be ready to go. This whole team has got to be so pumped about having another shot at the big prize. But LW especially after not being able to play this season..this guy is a competitor. I'm thinking good thoughts and more healing for ya Lawrence!

You play the season to win championships. If he can help the team win, who cares if he looses his medical redshirt (which isn't a given). I'm pretty sure he wouldn't.
