I'm having a debate in my head if it's Knowles playcalling and/or scheme or if he doesn't have the horses yet.

But good coaches coach up whatever they have, so recruiting might not be an excuse.

I don't think Knowles adjusted well in the second half Saturday (in any way).

The defense has, on the whole, been much better this year. But, there have been hints that there were still serious issues. Add that to a team playing nervous and tight...well, that's a recipe for today.

Said this in the game thread, but hire a B12 D coordinator and get a B12 defense. That was as fucking embarrassing a defensive performance as I’ve ever seen from an OSU defense. Knowles should give back at least 1 million of that salary.

given that Knowles D was advertised as being complex and difficult to learn … I wonder how much of that contributed to the poor play? I dont think it’s a “got the players” things as much as the players dont “have” the system yet…. I’m inclined to give him a bit of a pass … not sure how much of a pass.. but more than Day

I’d fire his ass. He wasn’t handed $2 million to get his ass handed too him like that.

Knowles inherited absolute dogshit in the secondary and the only guy in it that was actually good going into the season had maybe the single biggest year to year regression I’ve ever seen.

Today was embarrassing but if you can’t run man coverage without someone being like 20 yards open, that’s on the players. The guys got into the backfield. They forced rushed throws. The throws weren’t even that great. If the receiver can stand there and wait on an underthrown ball because a guy can’t play his position, I don’t know what else Knowles can really do.
