DC Jim Knowles (Official Thread)

pressure was there, but we were still over-pursuing. was too easy for their QB to step up and slip through for some decent gains.

gabriel was doing the same thing.

EDIT: i know, i know... 4 sacks, but there were a few nailbiting moments.
Eh hard to be critical imo. Bucks are the only team this year to hold UT to sub 300 yards of total offense this year and that's with UT mounting a garbage time TD drive of 70-ish yards or so. In terms of stats this Buckeye defense has only given up 300+ yards of total offense once this year to Oregon. Kind of insane to think about.

well, yeah, but… we’re going up against oregon next, hence my concern about gabriel’s slipperiness. we haven’t done well this year with slippery quarterbacks who are able to step up into the pocket and scramble out.

our lb’s are doing a better job of containing the qb scrambles, and the backs are coming in for support. but the backs likely will not be able to do that against oregon.

so maybe it just comes down to how much our lb’s have improved since we played in eugene.
