Stupid question: Rivals isn't listing an offer, but is listing him as committed. Is going coming in as a walk on? Can walk ons sign LOIs? Congrats to Adam.

Edit: I see the 11W article that says he has been offered a scholarship. My question still stands, can walk ons still sing an LOI?

The National Letter of Intent includes an agreement from the institution that they will provide athletics financial aid for one academic year to the student-athlete.

Welcome aboard Adam!

Just talking out loud....

I wonder if we possibly could have taken this kid as something like a preferred walk-on... With his dad working for the University, couldn't he go to tOSU for free and we save the scholarship? Anyone have any insight?

Alumni Association isn't currently considered a University job, although I believe there's movement towards it...

And tOSU only offers 50% tuition remission for families of employees... With over 28,000 employees it would cost the University a lot of coin to let them all have free tuition...

I don't want to nitpick with you because you certainly are more well versed when it comes to these types of things but I do believe that Archie in the past couple weeks was "promoted or transferred" to a VP position within The Ohio State University. I am not quite sure if the Alumni Association was moved also but I do know that Archie is now employed by The University.

Being a schloraship athlete affords priviledges that a prefered walk-on is not privy too, as far as I know, such as team meals, etc.
