The Penguin was never really meant to be scary, he was a wanna be mobby bossy character with some really bad personal habits. :=)

Sure just shit all over my suggestion. :p

I would like this one too, as I am a fan of wicked versions of kid's characters. Wasn't this villain a tad bit....secondary however? Not able to carry a whole movie I don't think.

I never read the comics, but I thought the same thing about the Scarecrow fwiw.

Yes, agreed. Although Scarecrow is one of my faves (Exploring fear by instilling it in others, what fun! Read the story "Dread" if you can.) he tended to end up being secondary a lot of the time, not to say he didn't have his own good plots sometimes. Driving all of Gotham insane with fear, all at once, whoo hooo! Didn't work of course.

The second Batman/Daredevil crossover book features Scarecrow in New York, apparently attempting to kill Wilson Fisk (aka the Kingpin) and take over his crime operation. In reality, this is merely a setup to draw attention from his true scheme: unleashing a massive dose of fear toxin into an incoming storm from atop the Statue of Liberty. This would spread the gas throughout New York City, causing all its citizens to suffer like "Sodom and Gomorrah." In the end, he blasts Daredevil with a dose of fear toxin, but Daredevil lives up to his "Man Without Fear" trademark by quickly brushing off the effects of the gas and defeating Scarecrow.

Mad Hatter, if included would have to be a side story or supported by a good side story.

Yeah, while in middle school, I was a big fan of the animated series. That's where I know Batman from. I always liked Scarecrow and Mr. Freeze, but your governator ruined him forever. I hope he gets a tumah.

I think it would be cool if they had several sub-villains intertwined in one movie. Gotham run amok. Poison Ivy, The Mad Hatter and maybe Killer Croc or someone just all going apeshit seperately, even fighting with each other. That could be stupid awesome.

That I do agree with.

I'd still like to see someone else take on the role if it were to happen. I think Daniel Day-Lewis could do a ridiculously awesome Ridder, but there's no way we'll see him in a Batman movie IMO.

Then again, he is going to be in a movie with Fergie...

Hugo Weaving would be a good Riddler as well.
Holy shit Hugo Weaving would make a kick ass Riddler

TDK has the second-highest six-day opening total ever, and it's only been out four days. What's even more impressive is that it's doing this on a non-holiday weekend. The other high-grossing films have been on holiday weekends.

It needs under $1 million to take the #1 spot. Impressive.

I was doing some browsing over on Amazon and remembered this little item.
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Long-Halloween-Jeph-Loeb/dp/1563894696/ref=pd_sim_b_5"]"Batman:The long Halloween"[/ame]

It's refreshing when you find a Batman story that both is epic and successfully explores the core of a resolutely explored character. Taking as its catalyst a sub-plot from the seminal Batman: Year One, the story revolves around murders occurring on national holidays, the victims connected to Mob boss "The Roman." Dubbed "Holiday," the killer uses an untraceable handgun and leaves small trinkets at the scene. Plenty of suspects are available, but the truth is something the Dark Knight never suspected. This series scores two major coups: it brilliantly portrays the transfer of Gotham rule to the supervillains and charts the horrific transformation of Harvey Dent from hardened D.A. to the psychotic Two-Face. Both orbit around the sharply portrayed relationship between Dent, Commissioner Gordon, and Batman: a triumvirate of radically different perceptions of Justice. It is always great to see the formative incarnation of Batman, drenched in noir here

Sounds A LOT like this is where "Dark Knight" just left off............

It sure does. As stated before, who even knows if Harvey Dent is dead? I think it could be really cool. Despite some people not liking the two-face emergence and how it was done, something like that could have a lot of people changing their minds on it.

I'd like to see the real Bane story done. They could take some liberties in regards to how close they stayed to the book (Azrael is a dumb character, and without any spoilers they don't HAVE to use anyone in that situation). At this point, the arc's big enough that the story can work. Plus, this way people can see the REAL Bane and how awesome of a villain he is. Not that God awful thing from Batman & Robin.

Some of the cons would be: I'm not sure how they'd fit so much into one movie. The good thing about that is the Knightfall storyline is tailor-made to split into two movies. I think the natural splitting point would be a FANTASTIC ending for the moviegoing crowd, too. I think the worst con is the fact that the Joker would HAVE to have a big role in that storyline and at this point it would be in poor taste to replace Heath Ledger. Still, I'd get over it if they managed to get it right.

Oh, and since I missed it before, Gary Oldman is the PERFECT Jim Gordon. The man is brilliant, and one of the most undervalued actors of his time. Second favorite portrayal in the movie.

I just don't see how you can replace Ledger though - was he did was completely carry the face of the Joker into what he should have been.

But, I didnt realize, Mark Hamill did the voice of the Joker in the animated series (I use to watch it when I was a kid) and he was pretty damn close to maniac status with that laugh. Sure the punch lines were shotty, but I completely forgot about him until I saw it on Cartoon Network the other day.

The only issue, I don't know how he would pan out in real character...

but as you can see, he wasnt too bad as the voice.

Just got back from "the movies. My ass is very tired, that was a long movie! Many people got tired of the length. Lady next to me started stompping her feet(they had probably fallen asleep).
Bale was decent. Ledger played a fine Joker. Script was good but too long. A good movie but I don't see an Oscar for Ledger. Why didn't they pick a better looking girl for the love interest? Was this movie too dark? I know that was the direction, but I wonder..........

My favorite Batman is still the first with Micheal Keaton and Jack Nickolson as Joker. And Kim Basinger was hot!
