Confirmed: UM's Turner did not graduate, now at TSUN

Michigan's admission standards for the general student population and for football players are completely unrelated. I would suspect that what's required by Michigan in this case is whatever is required by the NCAA. Nothing more, nothing less.

correct. Most schools operate like this, even ND which allowed Robert Hughes in with 2.5 GPA and a 18 ACT score.

maybe Turner will make it...but I have to wonder: with UM being such a superior academic school where only the best and brightest are capable of matriculating... I have heard that my entire life from UM fans... what are the chances of staying eligible? Is that a concern? Am I supposed to believe it is easier to graduate from UM than it is to get a HS diploma in Ohio? I mean we all *know* OSU is a state school and is only suitable for borderline students, party animals, and athletes who are looking for cash.

From the sound of things: If Turner can just manage to get his HS diploma he won't have any problem keeping his grades up at UM.

Interesting.

Harvard of the Midwest indeed.

Got a PM this afternoon with a rumor that CB JT Turner was headed to prep school. The guy's source was a little flimsy, and I couldn't help wonder with the timing of similarly named NE Ohio prospect Jamel Turner rumored to be heading to valley forge (this just surfaced more publically this week).

Did some more digging, and while it's still pretty hazy, it seems like the general rumor is the test scores aren't back yet, but they're looking into prep school as a possibility for JT. According to the OGT website, the scores won't be back until August (Aug 3 for seniors, Aug 25 for the rest).
